The only evidence I've seen is the pic of the lad holding his phone as if he is filming. If someone has witnessed him deleting content that is evidence that points to him having recorded footage but is nowhere near proof that he did so. Depends exactly what the witness saw and what the suspect did. Has the witness seen a video of training being played on suspects phone and then seen him press the delete button? Or has he just seen him messing with his phone as if deleting something?

Did I see above that Boro will not be involved in the hearing? Surely the Boro employee who has challenged/witnessed the suspect needs to give his account.
 

I can't see how Southampton get away with this one tbh

They are gonna have to set an example because if they don't spying becomes fair game.

If they don't get kicked out of the final then only justice is Hull winning.

Evidence of recording or not, it's against the rules to WITNESS the training session.

So, travelling hundreds of miles to spy on your opponents training session two days before a match is ok, as long as you don't record it?

The area is covered by CCTV. That may be more conclusive.

The gadge also had head phones in so if it picks him up talking then it could mean live streaming and following instructions on what/who to record.

I still don’t understand why he legged it into the bogs and got changed? 😄
A truly bizarre story!
The photo was taken by a Boro media photographer, I am unsure who challenged him but it was stated immediately that he deleted content.

Even if Boro hammered them 5-0 the sanctions for cheating should be applied. It’s the cheating that is the issue not whether they were rubbish at it.
 
I'd remove the whole rule.

As players have said this week, any advantage would be minimal.

If training and the tactics practice is that vital and secretive they can train somewhere where people can't just observe easy enough.

Bonkers imo if punishment anything other than a fine.

There’s absolutely nothing a young lad with an iPhone could identify that their analysis of the previous 40 or so matches wouldn’t already have pointed out.

It’s almost comical.
 
Just give it to Hull. They are the only team who won. And deduct points from Southampton for start of season. Middlesbrough shouldn’t benefit as they lost over 2 legs

We'll have to take Boro's word for that, lets see what evidence is provided by all parties. Being thrown out of the play offs is the maximum punishment, it doesn't have to be the only punishment. A big fine is the likely outcome and the fact they've said the verdict can't be appealed makes me think Southampton will be okay relatively speaking.

I think that's a fair assumption IF the hearing is today as it would suggest that the FL has Saints bang to rights. However most of the media still seem to be sticking to the line that a hearing will take place "next Tuesday or before" which of course doesn't rule out today

I am pretty sure that the FL will grab the opportunity to put an end to all this as soon as possible because above all they want the Final to go ahead on schedule next Saturday. At this stage they probably aren't even too fussed who is in it.

As already pointed out postponing and event like this would mess around a lot of fans but people seem to have forgotten that it would probably cost the FL millions and that will be their main concern.
