Have the hearing a lot sooner than next Tuesday for starters. I know its out of EFL control, but they are going to be the ones taking all the blame for it.
It is a shit show all round caused by the action of one team and they need punished heavily for it. I think the likelihood is that they will be punished heavily, because it will have affected the EFL's reputation and from a financial standpoint as well, they will lose out on ticket sales straight away because no one will know until Tuesday what is happening.

Classic indication those making these decisions have no idea about fans or the time, distance and money it takes for those clubs and supporters not next door to Wembley to sort out their travel.

The right thing to do is for Southampton to withdraw from the playoffs and mark their own homework - a proper investigation and outcomes to be made public. The football league can then act more swiftly and make a decision on who plays in the final - if anyone - and Southampton will be in a position to negotiate a less punishing points deduction/fine etc for the start of next season. By not acting, Southampton are making the situation worse for thousands of fans, the ruling body and the game of football.
