Southampton spying compendium thread

Wouldn't sit right with me personally if we were gifted a run at the final like in similar circumstances. Had the first leg ended up in Southampton winning comfortably then aye fair enough but they didn't have a shot on goal until the 65th minute
But Boro dominated them in the home leg, far more one sided than last night.

Poor William Salt would have been told by his boss to do it and he'll be losing his job for it.
If it goes to a hearing or the courts, during discovery maybe it’ll be revealed he was instructed to do so? I don’t know how it would work, or if there would even be a discovery phase. He was relaying it to someone, doubt he did it completely on his own volition.

If they throw the lad under the bus for following orders, it would be class if he did it straight back

Keef Downie has made it sound like an episode of The Day of the Jackal, but it must be the most exposed training ground in the country FFS.

Anyone who is going into the golf club can walk straight across from the clubhouse to the "gate" and see the training.

I was under the impression he had been up to some sort of vast operation to gain access, but any one of us could have done the same with ease.
Could have just sat with a cup of tea adding notes to his phone instead of being so obvious by the sounds of things.

Aye, i'm saying if they'd been battered at home in the first leg and the benefit was clear I'd feel differently, but boro bossing them for around 70 minutes makes me feel otherwise

If that's us and isidor misses 3 1 on 1s instead of Conway and then we were out on our arses in the second leg I'd not be begging KLD to get the lawyers out so we can have a go at Hull

Expecting that to be the unpopular opinion, mind

So
Man walks into an open area and records
100 yards away on his i phone
Buys a coffee

That the reality of it.

No top tech unless his mate were hiding in the trees
The man just happens to be first team performance analyst intern at the club they were playing.

It was with the lawyers before the games, they haven't just decided after being knocked out that they should do something about it.

Something is going on there. Firstly they say they would be going on sale tomorrow. Then they said they’d be going on sale friday. Now it’s all been deleted.

Pretty sure against Sheff United they released their ticketing information before us

Bloke on the Boro forum who seems to be well respected on there, said Boro are very confident and a decision to be announced tomorrow.

"A woz confoozed, sat nav sed saints acadamee burra endad up at Rockcliffe."

And this is the exact point.

Bizzarely Southampton as a club are trying to sell the story that this lad, off his own back:
Took a day off in the week leading up to the 2nd leg.
Drove to Hurwoth from Southampton (or flew to Teesside).
Bought a coffee in the golf club.
Hid behind a tree
Starting filming
Ran away when confronted (including getting changed)

AND that the management team knew nothing about it.
Trump style bullshit.

Bottom of that post.

Would like to see Southampton miss out, they were shitebags all game as well as the whole spying shite.

And if they done it for that game it’s very likely they have done it previously.

True, but, there’s no guarantee that either Coventry or Bristol would’ve scored if they’d been trying for the last 10 minutes. And if we hadn’t lost, they wouldn’t have been able to play those last 10 minutes out in the first place. Jimmy Hill is still a cheating xxxx. You cheat because it might give you an advantage. You can never tell that it actually has.

Should have just offered them to concede the play off game v Boro...or if they wanted to contest it the punishment would be relegation to League 1 if found guilty.

Makes the sport a joke and damages the integrity of the competition if they end up in the PL with a daft fine. Blatant cheating against the rules should be severely punished imo.
The Spy made all the difference yesterday when he expertly decyphered every second of Boro's plans for the game.

The silence is deafening
Think they hoped Boro would win
If they have evidence of this being a “ trait” for other games and not a one off as is being suggested-there is much more likely to be a bigger sanction?
Based on no personal knowledge and silence -expulsion seems to becoming more of a possibility the longer it drags and more info emerges?
Boro might yet be at Wembley-they are the aggrieved here
If it’s not a one off then there will be more aggrieved parties ….possibly.

Now the merits of their issue v those which are much more acute with the Boro is debatable but I’m not sure seeking evidence that this has been going on throughout the season (as rumours would suggest Boro are) actually helps their cause.

I think bringing up other clubs experiencing the same could give the EFL a way out to consider a sanction that doesn’t just benefit Boro.

IMO Boro need to demonstrate it was all about them and the play offs

Be fascinating to see how it plays out…EFL need to brace themselves for a legal challenge whatever decision they make.

What's your point? it's not the level of difficulty he faced in the espionage that will decide their fate ... if I go and film them it's not the same, at all
Its probably quite relevant when there is a range of punishments from fines to expulsion surely?

What other things could they determine the level of punishment with?

I don't see why, it's the intent and the act that's breaking the rules, not the lengths someone went to ... filmed from a tree or from a specially commissioned Southampton satellite, just the same broken rule.

But theres a range if punishments listed iirc. So they must judge each case on certain criteria.
