Southampton spying compendium thread

Some of the Southampton antics and the spying might be a bit shit, but I'd be absolutely staggered if there is anything but a heavy fine.

Surely there's no way on earth they are booted from the playoffs
It’s supposedly in the rule book that booting out is an available punishment. Agree though they’ll be hoping hull beat them so they can dish out a fine and points deduction.

Is the spot the lad from Southampton on a public space that anyone could go to and observe the training? It seems that way. If the club were really concerned about secrets being revealed they surely would have arranged to have it blocked off.

And it looks like hes filming on his phone. Hardly a complex surveillance operation!

I lived in Southampton for a few years back in the early 1970's, the era of Paine, Fisher, Mick Channon etc
They've always been my second team, but they should be slung out. It was absolutely pre- meditated and breaks the EFL rules.

Award first leg to Boro 3-0.

Southampton have no argument or defence, especially now there are photos of what happened, the ( alleged ) culprit's name and his photo next to the manager.

Wonder what Ross thinks about it 🤔???
I said on another thread they must have been the least offensive club in the country till now!!

He was relaying information back via a call and filming also.

Doesn’t matter how he’s done it. Boro could have a viewing gallery if they wanted to.

The rule explicitly forbids a club watching another clubs training within the 72 hours before a match.

It’s also an offence of strict liability, like speeding. Intent or consequence don’t mean anything, it’s purely that it happened.

I don't understand how Hull being auto promoted after the play-off final (if they lose) is the right option?

- Southampton have definitely cheated against Boro, who went out the play-offs to them
- They're accuesed of cheating agaisnt Wrexham, who missed out on the playoffs by a point to Hull

To then punish Southampton by promoting Hull would mean that Hull have got a benefit from Southampton cheating other clubs. Like, I feel like that wouldn't stand up.

Definitely open to the public , it’s the car park of Rockcliffe golf club which overlooks the training grounds.

Seen them training myself when I’ve been there , not that I took any interest in it .

He could have been bird watching.

Aye, clubs are allowed to open training to the public, which is why it's only a 72 hour rule. As typically the last day or two before a game is for the serious prep.

The EFL will want their big final at Wembley makes millions, don’t think anyone will be automatically promoted
