Southampton spying compendium thread

I’m sure there’s a few thinking it. I highly doubt Spurs and West Ham thought they would be going head to head for relegation. Anything can happen.
Perhaps yes - although I just don’t see any of the promoted clubs having the spending power and attraction we did and we will presumably strengthen in the summer.

I noticed this bit about the bloke who was recording the training session. If true then surely Southampton are in this shit?

Middlesbrough have captured the alleged perpetrator on CCTV and believe it is someone who has been pictured celebrating alongside the Southampton head coach, Tonda Eckert, when they have won matches in the Championship.

Cheers 👍

It'll never amount to that but the likelihood of them not being allowed to gain promotion I reckon is pretty high
agreed, my original response was to a poster suggesting the rules need to be changed. I think the rules and the potential penalties are more than adequate, they simply need to be enforced by the commission as they see fit and hopefully in keeping with the level of wrongdoing.

And Southampton are going with the "lone wolf" defence

So it was just a gadgy standing on a hill with a mobile phone with his earphones in not in a bush with any professional equipment, just read it on bbc
Read this evening Its been announced the spy DID have professional filming equipment powerful enough to pick up the head coach voice during training .
He picked up " they will be playing dominos on the bus"
"They are stopping at Greggs in Nuneaton on the way down"

Wasn’t that Murray and Reid’s fault. They didn’t want to be seen as spoiling Tranmere’s big day, even though they broke the rules. Still can’t understand their attitude with regards to not filing a complaint.
Tranmere should have had to forfeit the tie.
I am sure that if it was in a UEFA competition the tie would have been awarded 3 nil to us.
Reid didn’t want to upset his fellow scouserish types. Murray should’ve told him to stfu.

I can't understand the need for a range of potential penalties. It should just be an automatic expulsion if you get caught, thats a proper deterrent. Like the financial rules that get broken, some clubs will take the chance on a fine or small points deduction.

I'd also ban the manager for life as he must have known.

EFL can "recommend" a points deduction to the PL.

No chance the PL will ever implement it, but Southampton starting on -9 or something (if they go up) would be canny as it's one relegation place gone before a ball is kicked.
Not only should they start on -9, they should forfeit 50% of the Wembo Prize as a minimum. At most id say exclusion from the league and let Hull go up. If they don’t act hard and decidedly there’s nothing to stop other teams doing this
