Sounds good. Cheat your way to the biggest prize in football and we will hit you with a tiny and meaningless punishment. Let this be a lesson to any other clubs wanting to cheat, it won't be dealt with, knock yourselves out.I'm struggling to think of a good solution or punishment
Throwing them out of the playoffs seems a little harsh to me, so depending on the result of the playoffs....if Southampton get to Wembley, a very large fine, say 1 million....if not, a smaller one say 500 grand and in both cases a suspension from the League cup for a year.
A large fine of £100m of their tv money if they get up. £50m to Boro and the rest distributed equally amongst the other championship clubs. Then a 10 point deduction next time they’re in the Championship. Ten year ban from the FLC.I'm struggling to think of a good solution or punishment

Gerrin a hundreds of pages long match day thread when they play Portsmouth with just random wumming from MLF in amongst the Saints and Pompey fans postsForced shutdown of their supporter's forum, and required them to join this one.
Errmm, hold on, let me think that thru.
If they (Southampton) win the second leg I definitely think they should be chucked out of the play offs and Boro take their place.A large fine of £100m of their tv money if they get up. £50m to Boro and the rest distributed equally amongst the other championship clubs. 20 point deduction for each their next five FL seasons if they don’t go up and a ten year ban from the FLC.
Anything less is the FL admitting they’ve no control over their own competition.
It will be ridiculous if they're allowed to play in the final. They have definitely carried out a major cheating operation against Middlesbrough, and maybe others too. Southampton have already denied any active role, so the punishment should be as big as possible if that's discovered to be untrue. The football league should have forced the issue with the offer of leniency. Full disclosure and we only boot you out of the play offs. We then find that you've lied then you will be demoted. If they (Southampton) win the second leg I definitely think they should be chucked out of the play offs and Boro take their place.
Not that I'm biased

All PAT tested by Southamptons compliance department.Acting alone, with about £50,000 worth of professional equipment![]()
My Boro bias and wi.nky emoji aside, you are spot on.It will be ridiculous if they're allowed to play in the final. I don't see why the amount of any fine should be dependent on how they progress.I'm struggling to think of a good solution or punishment

Analyse his mobile. Where calls were made from etc. phone masts seem to be how they do it on Vera.First thing the EFL should do is ask to see the details of all Southamptons "analysts" expenses claims from this season.
Shock horror they are all from the location of their opponents the week before they played them.
Yeah. His phone will have recorded all his locations and times.Analyse his mobile. Where calls were made from etc. phone masts seem to be how they do it on Vera.
Assume you mean one Premier League relegation spot? FL penalties cannot be applied to members of the PL.Ten points deduction next season.
That'd be one place taken care of before a ball was kciked.
You'd think they'd have a better plan than just legging it and getting changed into different clothes like. How do you even get caught spying? Were they wearing Southampton's full kit? Just say you are a freelance journo or a crazed fan or an auditor. Let them know you have a right as a sovereign citizen and Freeman of the land to film into a private facilities changing rooms.
