Southampton spying compendium thread

Soton get booted then great news for us, neither Boro or Hull have any chance of doing what we have just done, they just don’t have the nous or capability footballing wise to recruit in the way we have.

I shouldn't laugh but it's an absolute thread of beauty from that point forward.

Leeds promoted.
Us promoted.
Wilder doing his best to get us promoted.
Carrick sideways passing their into mid table obscurity.
It must have been an awful end to their season.

"at least we have Hull next season"

Oh well...

On a lighter note hopefully the EFL will grow a pair and boot Southampton out of the play offs and give Boro their place in the final.
The beauty of this scenario is that the mackems will be lucky to get one point all season, if they go up!!! Ha!

fu.ck buckethead Wilder. And the Sheff Utd fans that couldnt even be ar,sed to go to a Play off final.

You’ve had 46 games to observe them. Of course it doesn’t
Do you think RLB and his coaching staff don’t work on things in training for each opponent we play? Different set piece routines, different transitions, shape, tweaks to formations and who’s doing what job? Plan A, B and C depending on how the game goes?

Suppose they’ll just be sat with their thumb up their arse all week in preparation for Everton at the weekend?
If theres so much evidence why have other teams said nowt till now?
I’d imagine they’ve not looked until now. Boro would never have thought anything of it had they not actually caught him. I wouldn’t know someone had been sat outside my house for 2 hours across the road unless I spotted them looking

Im happy to be proven wrong but I don’t think anything other than a fine will be the punishment for Southampton. I do however think the fact that Southampton won it and that Boro chucked their first leg chance away after dominating the game should have no bearing on any decision. Any form of cheating by clubs I believe though should never be a fine as that does not punish the guilty team or offer any kind of positive result for the team being cheated on. Having this situation right upon the playoff final is causing the decision whatever reached to be rushed. For me Boro go to Wembley and Southampton are still in the championship.

This mess seems to be growing. In addition to boro’s claim, if saints have been doing this all season then any team who dropped points against them and those points would have changed the team’s final league position has a claim. Particularly relegated teams who would have stayed up and any team that would have made the playoffs or even automatic promotion. Wrexham have a definite case for playoffs in place of saints. There’s also league position prize money to consider. And cup games.
A good starting point would be to recalculate the final league table allocating any points dropped against saints back to the teams.

In theory what you say make sense and I agree with you. However I think the main problem right now is the fact the season has concluded and the play off final upon us with not a lot of ti e to sort this mess out. I do agree though.

IF, it happened the Football League IDC will be able to prove it as just as a starter they will demand to see:
  • Full device access
  • Photo/video library
  • Recently deleted items
  • Metadata (timestamps, GPS, device info)
  • Messaging apps
  • Call logs
  • Cloud backups
  • SD card contents
  • Deleted files metadata
  • Transfer logs
The IDC will presumably also demand:
  • Emails between analysts/coaches
  • WhatsApp groups used by the coaching staff
  • Teams channels
  • Access to any Tactical analysis platforms
  • Upload logs showing when new footage was added
  • Internal scouting reports created after the incident
This Salt lad is seen throughout the 2nd half of the season on the touchline at games celebrating wins with Tonda Eckert so he is clearly close to the boss and a key member of the team.
The FL inquiry is not a Criminal Court so the standard of evidence that's required is a lot lower than I believe that you think it is. The only things that the FL would has to show when it come to a decision is that the conclusion it reached was reasonable given the know facts and that they followed due process as set out in their own procedures. They are not required to collect and consider forensic evidence and show that the case has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt.

To my mind despite all the questions about the competency of this spying operation against Boro and whether the "spy" acted on his own initiative if other Clubs come forward with the evidence that suggests that it wasn't just a one off incident then Southampton will be in very deep shit.

The time it takes for the FL to make a decision may therefore only depend on how many other Clubs (if any) do make or have already made similar complaints about Southampton.

I want Boro to go up. Not bothered how much some of them hate us, I don't mind them at all.
Same here. I’d like to see Boro, NUFC and Sunderland in the top flight together.

On spy gate I think Soton could be kicked out at a deterrent to others and replaced by Boro in the final.

And if it turns out this fella has been doing it over the season at other clubs (should be pretty easy to determine by his phone records) they should be demoted to league 1.

Although it might seem like a comical story, it’s actually a blatant attempt to gain an unfair advantage over a specific opponent by knowingly breaking the rules.

Whatever action is taken ,there will be legal challenges . My way there is legal precedent set, which always helps in legal cases.
Surely if Hull beat Southampton at Wembley , Southampton will have achieved nothing and can still be slapped with a heavy fine or point deduction next season .
If Southampton win , promotion can be taken away from them as punishment and any other sanction the EFL think necessary.
After all the other teams involved in the playoffs , will ask why Middlesboro, who were beaten on the day , should have another chance to win a final they didn't qualify for.
Going to be very messy, whatever action is taken .
Last sentence is 100% correct but Millwall can’t complain about boro getting another shot if the panel (or whatever it looking at the case) deems Southampton have cheated and gained an unfair advantage over Boro.

Swindon were kicked out of the cup for breaking the rules and Luton were reinstated so the EFL have already set a precedent this season, in that if you break the rules we can kick you out and reinstate the team that were unfairly eliminated.

There’s no way that’s going to be easy, EFL would have been hoping boro beat them then they could give them a fine and say don’t do it again and all would be forgotten until they play each other as sky call it spygate revenge or some other terrible title.

If they wait till after the final and Southampton win then it’s going to be the messiest possible outcome and it shouldn’t ever be allowed to get to that stage.

@Bg86

The moment Watson slotted.
To be fair to a lot of those posters, they spotted it was in game management that went wrong rather just us being unlucky

Wilder got stuck between pushing for a second and defending the lead and did neither. We capitalised and controlled the game after the disallowed goal
