Southampton spying compendium thread

Southampton forum is mad like. Just absolute denial and they reckon nothing will happen.
It's definitely a storm in a teacup mind, everyone laughed it off when Bielsa did it and it should have been the same here. It probably goes on at most clubs but Southampton have just been unlucky and got caught. Boro had two games to beat Southampton and couldn't do it and lost to the better team, no bloke hid in the bushes for 10 minutes with a camera had any significant impact on the result of the tie.

A recon having no Hayden Hackney was a bigger issue mind.
Maybe, but did Southampton know he wasn’t going to play so set up differently as they got a pretty good idea of the line up 3 days before the match and not 90 minutes. It’s all ifs, buts and maybes really but if found guilty they can’t be just fined as then others will just invest in spy scouts.

I dont think it will in terms of them getting kicked out of the play offs tbf.

But if we were in Southampton's shoes this place would be exactly the same.
A lot of people simply won’t have a bad word said about the club they support, completely blinded. In Southamptons case, it’s pretty obvious they have done wrong but some will keep on defending the indefensible.

Oh I totally agree they need fucked off. Total stupidity what they have done

With rumours
Derby and Wrexham have evidence too

They played the exact shape and a very similar line up against Wrexham.

Wasn’t against the rules when Leeds done it, since then rules updated. Also I still don’t understand how people think knowing what your opposition are practicing won’t help you, they probably knew the first 11 and the corner routines. All that will help you loads.

If it doesn't impact the result, why did Southampton do it, then try to hide it?

I actually think they should get thrown out. The rules are there for a reason and particularly if they have done it on more then one occasion it should be treated like fielding an ineligible player or a similar infringement and they should be punished for gaining an advantage.

I’m split on whether or not Boro should then play the final. Part of me thinks if Southampton gained an advantage illegally then it’s right to put them back in but part of me thinks they lost and any advantage proportionally is probably not equal to reversing that result.

Either way a fine would be ridiculous particularly if Southampton go up with the premier league riches and it’s a token amount. Either way the litigation will run for years with the EFL and both clubs

Christ if you’re going to get done for spying at least hoy a drone up or buy a top of the range camera . Looks like a nonce spying on some teenage girls .
Expecting the Guardians of the North to turn up .

If they win maybe m a point deduction when they return to champ , or new parachute payments

I accept that its probably unlikely that Southamptons lone wolf defence is true.

However, its not beyond the realms of possibility that a young, keen intern armed with just an iPhone could turn up in his dars jeans to help his work.
