South Shields FC 25/26 Thread

I'm from Shields and I am not a Geordie and I have never classed myself as one ever. I am 100% SAFC but I like to see the North East clubs do well apart from the Mags.
You are. You can call yourself whatever you like, but born in the banks of the Tyne ,you're a Geordie. It's not defined by what football team you support.
The fact that a large amount of Sunderland supporters are Geordies and a large amount of Shields supporters are also Sunderland supporters is difficult for some to accept.

Thanks for your input but you're wrong I am a Sand Dancer and that is how I see myself, how close is this catchment area to the banks of the Tyne? 1 mile, 2 miles, 3 miles, 4 miles?

It's a town on the banks of the Tyne, like Jarrow, Hebburn, Gateshead Geordies. Shields folk are both Geordies and Sandancers. It's not defined by the football club you follow, don't be in denial so that you "fit in".

It was a decent day down there, good turn out of Shields fans considering it was pretty much done & dusted, I see online 450-ish made the trip, it seemed more. 2 great chances 1st half one open goal from distance put wide in a rush situation and a chip headed off the line by their massive centre back Obi, who ran the show in defence and was dangerous when thrown up front. No ale in ground as Buxton fans had been out of order there recently supposedly, but a handy offy closeby saved the day and police allowed drinking outside under scrutiny. Shields really need to rejuvenate somehow because they looked bereft of ideas and a tad worn out tbh. Kidderminster looked stronger and more pro all over the pitch, keeper was solid too despite his urges to get out of his box and join in the fun. They have beaten shields 3 times now this season and if they both win their semi's next week will play again in the final eliminator at shields the week after...that would be a cracker with big crowd for sure. Great appreciation from fans to players afterwards, but it was clear everyone was gutted an opportunity was missed in the previous drawn game.
