South Africa 🇿🇦 v India 🇮🇳 test series

disgrace that this is only a 2 test series and won’t go to a decider. It’s quite ominous that two major circulating nations are playing such a short series.

Excellent debate now going out.
Commentry team calling out lack of quality groundmen.
Its awful there highlight/holiday test wont get through two days.

Also, South Africa playing two home tests per year - wow!
Whats happened to test cricket in SA.

Wicket!

Sending a team of reserves to NZ in March for two tests cos it clashes with their T20 comp.

India,England and Aus are the only ones who make money out of tests. They get the bigger share of the ICC revenue too.

If them 3 boards weren't as greedy then test cricket might survive with the other nations.

Yep cos it will keep their board and cricket in SA afloat.

Lose money every test they host.

Cannit see them losing on the England at Newlands test. Every day was sold out (and it lasted 5 days).

Apparently so. They aren't charging UK prices for tickets, it's the cameras and all the technology etc. that makes the biggest dint for tests. Supposedly about a million to host a test match now.

“We still want bilateral cricket to be supreme but the reality for countries like us is that you only make money when you play India,” he told ESPNcricinfo in 2022. “In the pre-Covid year, in 2019, we hosted England and Australia and we still made a loss. So we have to look at other options.”

Ended up being the shortest test in history, finishing after 107 overs. I'm sure Indian groundsmen will be trying to beat that record in a few weeks ;)
