I have a half day at work tomorrow so will miss the first hour but will be able to watch the majority of it.

Two good teams. Fancy South Africa to win the series 2-1.

I will of course be watching Jason Roy. He has to deliver in this series imo as the likes of bairstow and root will return

I hope he does well
Roy and Bairstow the best opening pair ever in ODI's. So we can't just give up on it.

But Roy has got Salt and Duckett in the squad breathing down his neck. You'd have thought Salt will be his opening partner today.

Then Jacks and Hales are absolutely smashing it currently in the T20 stuff.

He has to perform in this series or surely he's got to be out of the world cup squad.

We've got 12 ODI's scheduled before the world cup.

These 3, then 3 away to Bangladesh in March and 6 against Ireland and NZ at home in September.

Saffers should win this pretty comfortably against a pretty much second string line up for us.
Not really sure on that like.

Root and Bairstow really the only ones missing. Wood's never fit and compared to what we've played for the past few years this is as strong as we've been.

Our bowling has been fifth/sixth string at times. Potts, L.Wood Overton playing for example
South Africa: 1. Quinton de Kock (wk), 2 Temba Bavuma (capt), 3 Rassie van der Dussen, 4 Aiden Markram, 5 Heinrich Klaasen, 6 David Miller, 7 Wayne Parnell, 8 Kagiso Rabada, 9 Sisanda Magala, 10 Tabraiz Shamsi, 11 Anrich Nortje

England: 1 Jason Roy, 2 Dawid Malan, 3 Ben Duckett, 4 Jos Buttler (capt & wk), 5 Harry Brook, 6 Moeen Ali, 7 Sam Curran, 8 David Willey, 9 Jofra Archer, 10 Adil Rashid, 11 Olly Stone

Why isn’t Root playing in this?

Why isn’t Root playing in this?
Unknown as he wasn't playing in the ILT20 yesterday for Dubai

See if he plays tomorrow. He wasn't in the ODI squad anyway.

He's so vital to our ODI side especially in Asia so probably just a workload thing.

They did stop Brook playing in the SA20 for the same reason.

Batsmen on a hiding to nothing here. This track means that runs are expected. Roy in particular will need a good score, Bavuma is proving this and he was in poor form.

Great catch!
