  • Points Deduction: Counties can lose Championship points. For example, Somerset were docked 12 points (later halved) for a poor pitch against Essex.
  • Warnings or Fines: In less severe cases, counties may receive formal warnings or financial penalties.
  • Reputational Impact: Repeated offences can affect a county’s standing and fixture allocations.

imho, I think this pitch has exaggerated spin, and so early in the match. But I don't know whether it's exaggerated enough, we'd need to know how the ECB would measure that.
