Somerset Points Deduction

Good always get the impression good run club, and the cricketing gods seem to give them no luck year after year.

Would love to see them win the championship.

Politics. To be expected if you're not part of the London mafia. Sky with some interesting maths, 12 points being reduced to 8 isn't halved.

Trying to find footage of this excessive unevenness of bounce. I don't remember seamers bowling much.

A warm sunny spring day. Pint of Thatchers cider, fish and chips and day three of a County game in Taunton.

Will it ever come again?

Besides the production of this video I don't see anything wrong - a couple bounce low and one or two bounce a bit more. But not dangerous or unplayable by any means. You have Test class bowling and mostly Mickey Mouse standard batting. You want domestic players to face conditions like these, because they will happen in Test cricket when you have the ball turning and people crowding the bat.

London mafia & politics as I say. Basically putting the upstarts back in their place.

Should be no points deduction, we need different pitches to produce different challenges for players

If it is spins day one the inspectors turn up, if it seams all over the place, they dont

I don't get the logic in that?

The pitch provided plenty of last day drama, when it looked for a while Somerset would bowl out Essex cheaply twice. They ought to be given extra points for entertainment value.
