While I fully support the sentiments expressed on the thread about the treatment of animals, many of which we are driving to extinction, we live in world where there is incredible cruelty by humans to each other.

One person commits suicide about every 40 seconds, one person is murdered every 60 seconds and one person dies in armed conflict every 100 seconds, the World Health Organization said Thursday. Overall, WHO estimated that 1.6 million people met premature and violent deaths in 2000.

That is about one every twenty seconds based on 1.6 million premature deaths in 2000. I don't imagine that number had got any better since then.

The world's on a death trip imo and won't be satisfied till it's all completely fucked.
