SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

But would they really go through the trouble and cost of bringing in a big crane to install new signs if they had plans to lift the roof off anytime soon.

Surely they would wait and do it all at the same time if plans were in the pipeline.

of you were going to get a new kitchen fitted in your house in 2 years time, would you not bother changing a light bulb today?

I'd change a light bulb as its essential but I wouldn't bother doing much else. Nothing cosmetic if I was going to be renovating soon.

The club is ran like a well oiled machine I doubt they would carry out this work if a development of the East is planned. They would do it altogether at the same time.

I'd really like to get the spotlights back. Imagine walking across keel bridge with them on
I’ve mentioned this previous it would be fantastic like a beacon as people walk over the bridge.
I wonder if overtures could be made to the powers that be, who would handle something like this Dave Bruce?
It would be class, but sure it was under Quinn when he turned them on, then turned them off again because of the cost. Can only imagine maintenance & running costs would be mental these days.

The lettering that they’ve put up is a one off. I’d guess that would be a full on financial commitment

its literally the equivalent of hanging a clock on the wall of your living room, despite intending to paint the wall next year

extending the east stand will take years, even if they decided today to allocate the funding and start the process. it would have to go through all the different stages of planning and design, months and months of consultation and redesign, then go out for tender, then negotiations, thats before they even appoint a contractor to think about starting the work. it will cost £millions and take a long time.

spending a day on a cherry picker putting up some signage will have absolutely no effect on that process at all, unless they were planning on starting the construction works in the next few months. which they aren't.

they've spent months cleaning the cladding to the outside of the south and east stand. that will all come off if and when they extend the ground. it will still have been money well spent, just to have it looking nice in the meantime

Or the crane was on site already doing the screens

Wether there’s a plan in place to expand the stadium or not, I don’t think a few letters hoyed up with a cherry picker will have much impact on that decision

I always thought it was under Bob Murray when we had the first record low points total relegation.
He laid off a couple of hundred staff and switched the lights off as part of the cost cutting.
I might be wrong though.

I hope you are right but i just don't see us doing things back to front these days. Everything is well planned.

They wouldn’t be installing new signs if the roof was coming off at the end of this season.

Same situation if they are installing a new TV on the South Stand roof. That probably means no South Stand extension in the foreseeable.

There is no way in a million years that the east stand or south stand is getting extended at the end of this season. Unless the process is well on its way already, in which case it would be publicly available to view on the planning portal.

They may be looking at it in the background but it will be the end of 26/27 season at the earliest.
