Absolutely spot on. It’d be great to see a bit more acknowledgement of our illustrious past outside the ground as well. The likes of Carter and Gurney were local lads that delivered genuine glory to the club, a statue of the pair at the south stand (maybe in the new plaza area) would be welcome, as would one of Quinn and Phillips who brought genuine history to the SoL in its very early years.

Agree with those but also would add Big Charlie’s name to that potential list too. I know we have the gates, mind.

Mind you, there’s already plenty of Charlie in the Roker End bogs (allegedly) before kick-off and half-time every fortnight.

I always thought that the ‘Welcome To Sunderland’ lettering was a bit naff to be honest.

What’s the next areas for improvement? So impressed with the ownership. I would like the tarmac to be painted red or black with cats eyes around the pitch. Seats are looking faded again. Don’t like the white in the corners. Then extension in a few years time.

The Wearside End is the only decent option i've heard.

it would be instantly recognisable as sunderland, and general enough to get wide approval

also it would tie in with 'this is wearside'

I always liked it. I always thought that if you combine that with an intimidating atmosphere, it can sound a bit threatening.
