SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

Are you a therapist or something? Shut the fuck up, man. Never felt the need to put someone on ‘ignore’ on here, but well — there’s always a first…

You don't like people because they don't share your obsession with powder coated steel? Do you have friends?
You came into a thread where people were having a discussion about owner investment. You started replying to stuff I’d said — where you were talking absolute shite. Then you expect me just to sit back and not call you out for it. Now you’re coming out with some bizarre stuff, like the above. If you start an argument with someone you should have stuff to back up your view… which you don’t. 😂

You do know how forums work, don't you?

Again no one’s arguing the aesthetics, it’s just not specifically designed rail seating which many clubs are going for. This is a wider point into stadium upkeep and improvements that’s been discussed for a couple of year now. We seem to go for the cheapest option which ends up costing us more in the long run.

The option we have is taking space away from the row, with a potential trip hazard every metre or so. There is no rail seating the seats are exactly the same.

For reference here is Shrewsburys rail seating -

that's how it should be done. hopefully we do that once the whole stand can be safe standing. would look stupid having two different types of seat in the same stand

That second row looks a bit wobbly, whoever installed that needed a better spirit level, if I was a Shrewsbury fan I'd be well pissed off.

Here’s an analogy for you…

Imagine you decide to replace your old wooden front door. You’re well off — you can afford any door in the range. So you choose a nice composite door, with a lovely handle and letterbox, etc. You get it in the same colour to match your red garage, which costs a bit more. When it gets installed the fitters take the old frame out and replace that. ‘I’m gonna live here for a few years, so I’m gonna invest in something good.’

Imagine Sunderland’s owners got a new front door. They’d probably look through the catalogue and pick out the cheapest model of door. They’d tell the fitters to reuse the old letterbox and handle off the old door and fit it on the old frame, even though the frame will need replacing soon. Instead of paying the extra for the red one to match the garage, they’d go with white, cause the white door is the standard spec and cheaper. ‘It’s just a door — it does the same job.’

What would you rather do, if you had the money to get whatever door you wanted? Go for the cheapest one?
It’s more an indication that the current owners aren’t intending to be here when the door/railing related shit hits the fan.

The rail should’ve been mild steel with primer coat and top sealer at 900 microns to cope with the salty air. Also padded, heated with anti early leaver technology.

Club hasn’t got a clue.
Like the trolleys down ASDAs you mean? Where the wheels lock going over the threshold to stop you nicking stuff? So the rail would lock the arms of the person trying to head off on 82 minutes and not release until the final whistle?

Could they also be programmed to prevent people hoying crisp packets that end up blowing all over the pitch? And force them to sing so the SOL isn't like a library?

All welcome news.

Shame there's nothing about improving the concourses, but the main factor there is the lack of space which it's difficult to see what they can do much about.
Aye ground built on the cheap which is showing its age mainly due to lack of maintenance, not really up to modern stadium standards (wouldn’t get permission today) … however good news on some improvements which are desperately required

😂 I believe something like a medieval stock would be appropriate.
