SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

A decision in which KLD had no control over being the moment you believed his role as owner was untenable is mental.

Agree with most of the rest, though.
Various things could have been done, we bent over and give the mags whatever they want. The club stopped anti-mag banners, when premier league clubs like Crystal Palace constantly call out the morally vacuous wankers. The way the club has conducted itself ever since that cup draw was made is nothing short of disgraceful. KLD was largely popular before that.

I'd be amazed if they change the away set up ,for a 1000 of them only , when given the throwing incidents we want them all as subdued as possible
Plus it's the concourse
Why is having a rail in front of them going to make them any less subdued? And cause more throwing incidents?

It took two years to remove the covid masks signs after 2020. I’m hoping they are a bit more organised when doing the renovation works.

How about:
  • Full industrial clean of the whole stadium including roof
  • Repainting of all metalwork and walls
  • Renovating toilets
  • Adding some colour to the many grey concrete parts of the stadium including the exterior.
*Plus full redevelopment of the East Stand to house more revenue generating things.

Agree with the rest, just don't think there's much, if anything, we could have done re: the allocation. There's plenty of evidence and reports online to back this, too.

Would it?
Yes, these Billionaires don't have cash sat in a safe. It'll be tied up in investment funds, stocks, shares, property, etc. Probably earning a healthier rate of interest than that of a loan.

To get access to this they will have to sell / cash in which will likely be subject to capital gains tax at least, whereas a loan is not subject to this and the interest paid can be written off for corporation tax and is paid down over a number of years.

Unless of course they've gone and got the loan off the business equivalent of Wonga and are over the odds in interest. First point, we don't know if there was actually a loan, second point we don't know any details about the loan if it does exist. But, for the purposes of upgrading the stadium taking out a loan at a decent interest rate is a sensible and acceptable option.

I agree with that. I don't think it means they should go though. This is the first season they've struggled with recruitment for me too.
Recruitment has been OK overall, it actually peaked in that last January as a league one club. Its gradually got poorer every window since though. In hindsight being able to attract Roberts and Clarke whilst in league one was ridiculous, but as I say, progressively worse ever since. Hjelde in particular reminds me of the signings we made under Grayson and Coleman, very bizarre. The January just gone was an abomination really, and I still don’t get the Callum Styles signing, he’s as average league one as you can get.

I'd be amazed if any club in the country would've sanctioned the initial display SO37 came up with. Whilst it was and is correct, football clubs just will not put themself in the position of action being taken against them. Palace fans get the banners in but they aren't endorsed by the club.

Aye, as I've said I think this season they've got too much wrong recruitment wise. But when everyone's fit, we still have a good squad for this level but it's missing a couple of key pieces.

Nothing to do with the fact Steve Neil is a mag then? Nothing whatsoever? I would also love to know why several owners have found it appropriate to have him in such a position at the club.

people on here said some of it was under short..?
yes donald didnt help it...KLD spent millions in his first year on re-opening stuff..
No lets be clear it started under Donald....ffs we were paying thousands a month on plants under short and thousands on a giant icemaker for bain.lets be clear where you a sunderland supporter under short?sorry i forgot your not even a Sunderland supporter now!

So what action was taken against Palace ?

I'm below them and never see them .
If they are just doing what they want up there anyway when they are meant to be in a seat why has it never been mentioned when we had all the heat from people chucking stuff ? I assume they're pretty well monitored and sitting with the occasional leap out the seat
If that's not the case it will make no difference.

I’d make two points - if we are now debt funded then that rather negates the benefits of having an apparently wealthy owner and secondly borrowing to undertake what is essentially maintenance is absolutely no indication of intent gong forward.
I'd make two points - if we are now debt funded then having a wealthy owner can help in ensuring the interest charged is lower. This isn't just maintenance, it is upgrading stuff.

I'd agree if we were taking out the loan just to fix a leaky tap, put a new carpet down then yes. The announcement contains significant infrastructure upgrades and as a business we don't have a pot of accrued profit to dip into, so a loan is acceptable in these circumstances.

Plus it's the concourse

Outside the ground, the turnstile entrances say North Stand Upper - away fans only. The U on your seat merely indicates the upper half of the main bowl. Premier Concourse refers only to the upper tier of the West Stand.

Just to play devil’s advocate perhaps the various owners setting his responsibilities and job objectives who also monitor his effectiveness have been happy with his performance 🤔
