SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

I’d just like this magical 5g to work at halftime. It works pre match but when I’m guessing everyone is on their phones mine simply doesn’t work.

I’m trying out my “man of the people” routine in an attempt to establish my bona vides with my common man, or heavens to betsy my “common woman”.
Looks like auto correct struck for some reason on your response which I presume was made in good faith 👍
Fans love to focus on buying players. Unfortunately it’s a simplistic idea not rooted in reality.

The Premier League don’t hand KLD a big cheque marked “players”.

The owner may think that this is an ideal time to move some money out of the club to recoup his investments.

And the cost of players is huge now we are in the big league.

It’s a challenge.
The value of the club to KLD is in the Club remaining in the EPL, very much doubt he'll remove any money from the Club.

It will certainly be a challenge, after the progress we have made under his stewardship I'm inclined to believe he'll get it right.

I’m certainly hoping so.

Agree with all the comments re the concourse. I never use it at the SOL, never drink before game or during half time as its so jammed cant get served, then getting barged all over as people want to go to toilets and bars etc but there is literally nowhere for people to move. To be fair if you need a piss thats the entire half time done anyway.

Wembley as always a complete eye opener, 90k people, never once felt overcrowded, no queues for toilets or drinks/food....Happily bought beer and food before game and at half time and chatted with people about the game.....Even at £7.50 a pint it felt decent value, it was civilised, relaxed and just a great experience

The SOL clearly doesn't have the capacity to do this with the concourses but it has a LOT of space all the way round. Im pretty sure the concourses could be expanded outwards, even doubling the width would still leave space outside and make for a less dangerous situation inside and at times it really does feel dangerous. The outside walls no doubt support the structure but you could build a second wall further out, move the turnstiles further out and have space to walk through into the open area between the original wall and the new outer wall. The stadium is a mechano set, its not beyond the wit of man to adapt it to create so more inside standing space on those concourses and I genuinely think the takings would go through the roof if the did, particularly if they started selling some decent premium beer instead of fricken carling or similar.

See theyve already started the re-siting of the media hub (small white building outside the SW corner).....diggers and ground been dug up, a new ones getting put further out into the car park area

I heard that the only way they could expand the SoL was by building on Mowbray Park . It shouldn't be a problem to get planning approval to do that. 😉

It's a tough one as you are catering for different audiences.
When I was young and going to the game with the lads, to me it was all about the drinks in the city centre and getting to ground 5 mins before hand.
Now I take my lad, its all about going to ground first thing and having some food and drink in the concourse.
I fully agree the club need to make the most of match day revenues but it is striking the balance
Next season, we will be at the ground early doors still and use the club but aware many won't

East stand concourse should be a fairly simple extension. The wall isn't structural and you could just bring the sheet metal straight down instead of having it tuck back in. I wouldn't even move the bars inside as it could be possible to make them double sided with the extra space created. The main issue will be that you will lose massive amounts of space outside for queuing which would likely upset the council as fans would be stood on the car park.

Need to get the electronic screens above the North and South stands upgraded, look horrible with those mismatched replacement panels.

When you look at what other grounds have they’re like the equivalent of the Roker End score box (quaint as it was).

Absolutely this. Stadium renovations etc can come with the money we’ll get by being an established PL club.
F@&kin hell man.

Still don’t get it.

What has made the difference over the last 4 years of this ownership is well planned incremental investment across all aspects of the club. All of these things that people say “don’t matter” form part of the butterfly effect that has taken onto the Prem.

We didn’t need to spend money on taking digital advertising boards in London. We don’t need to hire advertising vans to drive round Trafalgar Square. We didn’t need flags. We didn’t need Tifos. We didn’t need new floodlights and sound system. The list is endless.

All of these things make a difference.
