SoL rated in top 100 grounds

Capacity: 52,387

Tenants: Newcastle United

St. James' Park is one of the most hostile stadiums to visit in terms of atmosphere, with each home game typically a sell-out (or near enough) for Newcastle United.

They stick the away fans right in the corner of the largest stand so they can barely be heard and barely even see the pitch they're so far away. When Papiss Cisse scores a late winner, the walls come alive.

This.

Interesting question. I suspect it will be standing in 50 years.
Easy IMO. But we never know what's going to happen. We don't need a bigger stadium but with minor success and advances in venue technology like heating and roofs (not exactly new I know) the stadium could opt for more modern build in 40/50 years from now. Especially if music concerts become more popular at the SoL

That's the biggest pile of shite I've read today and that's considering I was on the Daily Mail website earlier.

Did they just get an ourangautan to decide?

Goodison and Elland Road above the Emirates

Utter Garbage that list like, however just scanning thru a few I noticed the redevelopment of the Stade Velodrome in Marseilles is looking canny. That will look superb when its done. And I have always wanted to visit the Marassi in Genoa, gorgeous stadium in an amazing setting.

Just me who prefers the goodisons, villa parks, elland roads? Love looking at old photos, roker included.

Late 90s early 2000s was almost like there was only one way to make a stadium, SOL, St Mary's, darlo, Boro, Derby, Leicester etc etc.

Nope, you're spot on, much prefer visiting those stadiums to the identikit ones you've listed below.

Our ground is average as they come, it's bland as hell and scruffy out the outside. I wish they'd spend a bit of money just cleaning it so it looks white again, take a bit of pride in our home. We should celebrate our history far more than we do as well, statues, renaming the stands, decorate the concourses with pictures etc.

Our attendances are great, the fans are mostly great but the stadium is nothing to write home about.

Has the author actually been to the Bernabeu for a game? It's a bit rundown and they need piped chanting over the tannoy to generate an "Atmosphere".

Do you know when they're starting work on the new extension/roof thing? I saw their plans whilst on the tour a few months ago, it looks impressive but sad to see them and Real Madrid turning their iconic stadiums into huge spaceship looking things.

All quite similar,

then take villa park for example and look at the old holte end in its day and the transformation to now

But dortmunds transformation is the one that fascinates me the most

f***ing Elland Road, Goodison and Villa above us and that's just the first 3 pages, they are f***ing shitholes.

They are better

When its windy the litter swirls into the centre of the pitch, due to the design, nightmare.

No, its due to the scruffy twats dropping litter

Aye.

Goodison and Loftus Rd are easily the best grounds in the premiership. Much better than the modern day soulless bowls.

For some reason it has not included all your replies. On the Elland Rd, Goodison, they are not better. Goodison I can't sit down cos the seats are shit and they do not sell beer at half time, so you are incorrect.

Usually a fan of the old fashioned football grounds except Goodison.

Absolute hovel and it will be £38-£44 a ticket there this season

Hrm well, that's about right, the SoL is starting to look dated.
