SOL expansion

I think between 200 and 500 people would be effected so there would need to be a plan in place to put them somewhere.. then where do they go once its complete because their seats would not exist anymore.

I'm one of those who will be effected so hope its not a shit show.
You’ll have to pay a £20 admin fee I’m afraid mate.

Villa.park extension is 100 million
Elland Road is 150 million

Ours should be a fair bit cheaper given the stadium was specifically designed to make expansions easier, compared to increasing old stadiums with individual stands beings more complicated & therefore more expensive

Theyll probably try & spin that as goodwill gesture of not being charged the moving fee 🤣

But if we are being forced to move the club should be compensating. There's families, fans who have sat together years going to be placed in new areas.

I don't much hope of them handling it well like

Where will people in the last few rows of the East Stand be moved to while building takes place? I suppose you could fit them all into a section over the west stand premium until its complete?
If they eventually decide to extend the east stand i believe it will be a major overhaul and involve massive construction and interruption to more than a few fans in the upper rows..it will be nothing like the south stand proposed extension and cause closure of the upper bowl and for a time the complete east stand as well .

There's probably a few ways they could do it. Fans disrupted could get 1st dibs on match day tickets at reduced cost so they pay no more than they would a ST if it still existed. Also first dibs on the newly built ST seats or STs elsewhere that come up for sale due to lack of renewals, possibly with a slight renewal discount.

Given the current actions I'd be surprised if the club did owt like this even though the 'cost' overall wouldn't be much and they'd certainly not piss fans off anywhere near as much as they have recently.

:edit: This is Villa and it's similar to what I said above as fans can go anywhere else in ground apart from the blue/white stripe section or they can just suspend it. They will also get 1st dibs on new seats.

Fans who currently have season tickets in the stand have been told they can move to another part of the ground for the same price, with the exception of the top category zone one seats located in the Trinity Road Stand.

Those supporters will also be given priority access to the revamped North Stand, when it opens in time for the 2027-28 campaign, getting the chance to return to their original seat or its equivalent in the new structure.

In addition, existing North Stand season ticket holders are also being given the option of pausing their season ticket, should they wish, for the next 12 months.

How much will adding 5000 seats cost? And do we know what the projected revenue increase the newly designed ground will bring in? It’s all down to money, plus we do need to upgrade facilities the ground is looking pretty old compared to those new grounds that are appearing, not surprising given it was built at the end of last century!
The SOL may not be the newest ground in the Premier League, but it is still a much better ground than that lopsided dump that Newcastle play at

This, or you can end up like West Ham with a new stadium that's absolutely soulless with thousands of long timers giving up their season tickets it's that bad.

I gather the concourses havent been freshened up either. They were absolutely horrific last time i was in there. The turnstiles are like going back to the 80s anarl

Any concept drawings kicking about? How far down the process are we? I know we have planning approval from the council about the south stand. But I hadn't heard anything about the East stand.

There's no plans from the club to do any extension at the moment it's just wishful thinking from fans. The club just objected to the sheepfolds development incase it impacted the South stand extension. There's a buffer zone agreed with the council behind the South stand now so everything is OK if we do extend the ground.

They’ll just put all the affected ST holders in to one of the blocks sold on a match by match basis. No doubt the block that sells least well - ie currently seems to be the NW Upper next to away fans of clubs that sell full allocation.

Is this buffer zone the fabled monorail station?
