SOL expansion

I’m raging.
At access 20 they’ve put a haway the lads banner up, white sheet red writing but it’s black string on a white pipe!! Outraged I am

Overall though. What an improvement, much brighter and vibrant. TVs have massively been upgraded. Bar livery is much improved. I will miss the bar names but simpler and cleaner display now

What’s this then, photo came out not long after play off final, thought it was the new press room

I imagine this is the working area for the written press, while the other room is designated for post‑match interviews with RLB.

You know it's almost the exact same beer, made to a very very similar recipe, by the same people in the same brewery?
I seem to recall Madri is mainly brewed in Tadcaster and Carling mainly brewed in Burton but I could be wrong.

Kind of obvious that the recipes will be similar and they are both lagers which by there very nature will only have around 5 ingredients (German lagers by law have 3).

Saying they are “the exact same beer” is a bit of a stretch as on a blind taste, most regular drinkers could probably differentiate which doesn’t take away from the fact it is a smart marketing ploy. When the fashion was for Italian beer, the big four were desperately buying up small Italian breweries so they could give their mass produced lagers a good “back story”.

Like anything, drink what you enjoy regardless if some of that enjoyment is a placebo effect- doesn’t really matter in the same way that having a horse logo on their polo shirt makes some people feel better.

Seriously though, its the same place, the same house yeast, the same malt. The industry rumour at the time was that it was the exact same base beer, with one single extra hop addition.
Now I'm not saying that makes it the same beer, but it does mean that claiming that Coors (and also Carling, same story) is totally shit, but Madri is great might be a very silly thing to say.
I didn't claim one was totally shit and one was great though. That might be the general sentiment but I just said I would rather drink one than the other, which might suggest the addition of the single extra hop is to my preference.

I haven’t seen anything of it. I will do next week when we play Rayo Vallecano. Unless the game is either midweek or on a Sunday I can’t get to see the game. That will be my first chance to not only see the new look to the area underneath the West Stand but also the new team. I’ll finally get to see the likes of Diarra, the new kid from Brighton, Reinildo and Xacha.

I did a search in which AI suggested the bar was there from 97. The below shows otherwise so you were correct.

You'd hope if extending other areas any corporate bars would be superior to that build 25 years ago so may take longer.
The 2000/2001 season when the Stadium was extended to 48,707 the back of the North Stand where the BCB is/was, just had white sheet metal at the back, the Black Cats Bar was developed in the close season and opened for the 2001/2002 season. I've got a huge Framed Panoramic Photo from 2000/2001 in the loft somewhere that shows this.
