SOL expansion

Some people really don't understand the words negativity and ambitious in this thread mind. They just don't like what they're hearing and it's all they come up with.
Questioning whether spending tens of millions on extending makes financial sense right now makes you 'negative', it seems. Obsessed too iirc.
What would you prefer?
48k in a 48k stadium
Or
52k in a 58k stadium
?

I think the team would probably do better playing in a packed stadium. The reality of the matter is recent history suggests extra capacity isn't yet required.

i would prioritise extra investment on the pitch and consolidation in the top flight, then consider extending the capacity if sustained demand is there.

Stadium supposedly needs more corporate boxes and suites. Also, apparently needs that and to be bigger too, in order to land the biggest/best summer gigs. Those running the club will know if and when it's the the right time to do so. Cracking on with it and getting established as a premier venue and host with the acts before the mags build theirs might be a factor.

That “daft” idea wouldn’t work.

I gave you a perfectly good example of where it potentially could. But that’s just daft isn’t it?
It wouldn’t at the sol. End of the day with enough money and time anything can be done. It doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do.

Yes removing the front of the premier concourse, reducing capacity, moving the place where the directors sit, displacing season ticket holders and then the sheer amount of infrastructure, engineering work involved and the costs isn’t just a daft idea it’s an incredibly stupid idea.

You just haven’t thought about the extra stairs, lifts, corridors, toilets etc that would be required to do something like that. That’s before you start cutting into the PC.

There’s also the directors hospitality right behind the front of the concourse. It wouldn’t be feasible to do.

If people don’t want to build a tier that’s up to them. It’s shite half baked ideas that’s astonishing like.

They admitting we need more hospitality areas and boxes, but the try every daft way to build it than the most obvious, cost effective and sane suggest and literally what the stadium was designed to do.
What fans do/don't want is largely irrelevant.

You do seem to like a bit hyperbole, mate.

It’s not my job to think about it, I’d leave that to the experts. Leeds had the same problem.

You can ramble on about stairs and lifts as much as you like to fill out your argument, but in reality have no idea about what would be entailed, you just want a shiny new extension which is the be all and end all.

Nobody has said it’s happening right now tho.

I've read a few people suggesting it's advanced and happening soon. If what they really meant is the club have tentatively discussed future potential expansion based on future success on the pitch and sustained demand, then that's reassuring.
Funny that you don’t understand what that word means or how to use it 😂
Which word, mate?

You can create whatever fantasy you like and then just say “well I’ll leave that to the experts” doesn’t make it a sensible suggestion

So it’s not happening right now. Glad we agree.

The one you don’t understand the meaning of and you’ve used incorrectly.

I'll assume you mean hyperbole:

a way of speaking or writing that makes someone or something sound bigger, better, more, etc. than they are:
The blurb on the back of the book was full of the usual hyperbole - "enthralling", "fascinating", and so on.
Synonym
exaggeration

Aye, definitely none of that fron you, mate.

Thanks for proving the point, that you don’t know how to use it. As if you’ve googled it and pasted it

Bless

Because it’s not the same stadium, and we have no idea of the logistics and set up.

There’s a use case for a swimming pool on top of Fulham’s stand. Doesn’t mean it would be the right thing or sensible thing to do at Sunderland.
You’re correct we have no idea, but you’ve tried convince me otherwise on your posts like you think you do have a clue.

I’ve just tried present an alternative view on your extension proposal for more corporate boxes.

You’re just not willing to entertain it because you just want a new stand and that is it.
