SOL expansion

Just another take on this one, but does anyone know how manny seats we would add by doing the South West Corner only?

There is already boxes in that corner, no impact to concerts doing it, I’d imagine the cheapest and easiest, add on around 3.5 k as a guess, which would mean an increase close to 5000 if we sort out a solution that gets people sitting in front of tier north stand upper?

I maybe too high with extra 3.5k thinking about it.

Don't think there's much point only doing a corner. If they're going to lift the roof off and expand the upper tier, they might as well do the whole South Stand

Not sure how much it would add. Id be surprised if it was 3.5k if I had to make an uneducated guess id say maybe 2k

But can't see them doing something like that. Any extension is going to have expanding the corporate offering and I cant see people paying 10s of thousands a year to sit in a corner.

It’s just such a different job mate to add seats onto 1 corner where there is already corporate underneath, compared to a whole south stand expansion, with regards to cost and time.

fekking madness to just do the south west corner only mate !it would look bloody stupid and not make financial sense given the expense of the costs just setting up the work .....oh and nowhere near 3500 seats one thing is for certain .....

It’s be major work to start that project. Would be no point in not doing a full stand. Would end up costing more if we then decided to do the south stand after.

That’s the key point really around how much do we need to expand corporate areas?

If that’s the priority then you do east stand, south expansion including south west upper makes zero sense, as you get nothing from south west corner.

There is still availability for corporate offering in north stand though, so is there a need if it isn’t boxes?

Yeah fair point mate around start up costs, I do get that side of the argument, I don’t think it would look stupid tbh, if anything would be more cemetrical with 50% of stadium now having upper concourse.

I cant remember it if it was on here or elsewhere but I seen somewhere that there's a move away from people wanting to pay thousands to sit in a box with people they know and towards people wanting to mingle and network and then sit in a comfortable seat. I think extending the east stand would come at a huge loss of seats for us normal people so extending the south stand at the same time would be a good idea.

If we stay up this season which is looking more likely every week I think its too late to extend unless they can do it in a way that very little capacity is lost.

Yeah I’ve seen that on here mate about people moving away from boxes but I think that’s highly speculative tbh, all I know for a fact is, our boxes are oversubscribed and our corporate offerings are under subscribed.

What would be point of putting another 76 yards in south stand when we can’t fill the one in the north stand?

The downside on boxes is amount of seats you lose, not sure if the club could do it in a way to lose less seats than original design.

Would this corner extension come with X-Ray glasses to enable people to see the pitch through the wall?

The pricing in 76 yards is one of the minor things they haven't quite got right this season.

Anything North of a £100 for a seat behind the goal is going to be off putting for many who would otherwise be interested.

Saying that it is £300 a seat for Arsenal and it is almost soldout.

But I still think for the less attractive fixtures the prices are far too high for what is offered.

They drop the price to £99 for the 76 yards padded seats no access to the bar for the Everton match and there was still over 50 unsold so this is the one area that needs reassessing

For that area of the stadium £100 a ticket is about my limit. But I'd want a pie and a pint included. That would be far more appealing.
When I have checked the prices in there so far this season it has been silly money to sit behind the goal.

I think they might take any barriers down mate between stands, the nw corner don’t need x ray glasses to see the pitch :D
It wouldnt be a barrier, it would be the side of the stand. Maybe they could take that away, but then people would get wet. Or the roof would fall down.
