SOL expansion

There's little money in extending the South Stand. The money is corporate, which would be boxes and lounges in the East Stand. Also, the season tickets are more money there.

Exactly. If someone was thinking like a few on here we'd have had a 25,000 seater stadium and wouldn't be half the club we could be. Get the fucker extended, market ourselves as the NE club where you can get a PL ticket fairly easily, get fans for life. Give away fans 5,000 tickets if the worst comes to the worst, but I don't think it will.

You haven't read my post properly.
I wasn't sure which way to go on this topic but that bit swayed me. Great idea to get kids on board. The next generation.👏

While I agree in principle 100%. That amount gets you one Habib Diarra. You're talking like its mega money
Exactly, the club could do both as it will be financed anyway and the cost of stadium stuff doesn’t go towards psr if I’m not mistaken. This isn’t like the Murray season where clearly money went from the player budget to build the extension. Football isn’t like that anymore and our owners ain’t Murray who while a very rich man isn’t in the same league as our current owners family wealth.

Should be easy enough to add one section at a time to complete the top level. May as well do it now, being the best team in the region and boy do we deserve it. As for the seats, just have the lower ring white and the upper tiers red, so they are out of the sun. Then add another tier, and a big sliding roof, with laser turrets that blast the seagulls at half time.

40m could buy a fair few stars at youth level.

All about getting them before they make a name for themselves.

Aye like others have said mate that’s not how stadium financing and player purchases work nowadays.

The extension would be financed by a loan (ideally from the bank of Kyrils mother) which would be paid back by the extra revenue the extended stand brings in.

We would still continue to spend upto PSR regulations like the 150 mill we dropped this summer, from the TV money.
.

it might sound stupid but ideally we want people locked out the ground and not being able to get tickets whenever they like.
That is exactly what is happening now mate, I know fans who have been going regular for years having a nightmare getting tickets.

No need to drag it out for years, now is the time to do the analysis and planning and hopefully start extension after summer concerts and no need won’t be done in a year.

I swear if boy Sunderland fans care about the colour of our seats so much.

As the place is full you never see them anymore, so what does it matter what colour they are 😁

I know of a few family’s (parents had little interest in football) who’s kids started supporting Sunderland last season because it was impossible for them to go to a Newcastle game unless it was a cup game. Extend and we could take a large portion of the next generation from neutral areas by premier league games being accessible. Stay up this season and it’s a no brainer! We only need one more seat than sjp and they will be well and truely rattled again 😂

Just watched the sunderland highly video of Mukiele from Saturday and there's loads of patches of empty seats. At both ends of the ground and even in the east stand.

How are all these empty? Have reselling websites bought season tickets and can't sell them on or summit?
Personally I don’t care. If a ticket has been bought it has been bought
I don’t know any other club that has fans that wouldn’t want there stadium extending , when the demand is there , actually gets me excited , yous deffo don’t have gravy on your Sunday dinners , boring guys
Genuinely think that people are scared of the idea of things being good in the future, cos then they can’t always pretend the past was amazing and so much better. It’s a weird Sunderland thing

Just imagine how they would react if it was extended to the 60,000 that BMs original plans would allow

Considering they have been waiting two years for some news regarding a new stadium or extension. The toys wouldn’t be right out when the cranes and builders role up and start work with no hassle.
Be amazing, the meltdown would be epic 🤣🤣🤣🤣

There's always a few in the South Stand who leave their seats at the front to go stand near the back. Probably accounts for some of the gaps.

There’s absolutely loads

They could double their half time billings if they created the space for people to actually spend money
Corporate laughs at the concourse spend
Will never happen, but if we extend the East, then I absolutely think the whole south stand should be made safe standing.
Not enough demand. A small percentage, relatively, want to stand.
