They will shut the academy. Been obvious for ower a year. Unfortunately it hasn’t done Brentford any harm.

We’ve had Cat A academy status since the term was invented iirc. Ten years in the PL with a Cat A academy then 366 days later we are a L1 club with a Cat A Academy. If it had been worthy of the Cat A name staffed by people worthy of the status then surely we shoulda had half a team at least capable of regular L1 football?
WTF have these coaches been doing for ten years? Who high up at SAFC was keeping an eye on them? If anyone? Who at the licensing board FA? PL? FL? has been keeping an eye on them? How can safc even be considered for top cat status? I’m pretty sure that one of the requirements for Cat A status isn’t to have only three academy graduates ( not inc Grant) capable of holding their own in third flight football.
Just as well we had it mind, imagine how few L1 quality players we’d have with a Cat B academy for ten years?
