I’d be in a bit of a huff with stokes tomorrow if I was him like. If stokes wanted him in the side then he’d be in the side
Smith is talented but there’s no doubt in my mind playing for Surrey has helped him here
I think some others will get a chance with the T20 test players rested

He is a keeper tbf. Just because of surrey doesn’t keep, which is a problem I suspect
I know bairstow is not flavor of month on here but neither smith or Robinson would have averaged over 40 against Cummins, starc and Hazlewood like he did
He’s been on the road sincd the start of the India series, not surprised his form has dipped

Extremely talented cricketer mentioned to you before thought he would get picked, he fits the way the team want to play
Not sure they too bothered probably wrongly that he doesn’t keep week in week out.

Yeah not really disagreeing just seen this lad bat a few times and looks top class, one match all be a T20 looked like he was playing on a different wicket to the rest of the players.
And thought straight away he would be exactly the type of player this regime would want

Foakes was never England quality like. Couldn’t understand the fuss over him, almost became like a cult
Foakes absolutely deserves dropping like
Foakes was unfortunate in that he never got a real run of matches, he’s a better bat than he showed
More than a third of his innings were in India as well (averages 40 at home)

He’s just not good enough in my view, not about a run
The main reason is he just can’t bat with the tail, you have to have a number 7 who can keep strike and hit boundaries, it’s not really about average their, that’s one thing bairstow was brilliant at in the ashes
He’s obviously a good keeper and kept will in India but his limitations were exposed and he had a really poor series.
I just thinks he’s a a very good county player.
You must admit it got a bit cultish with him, this old fashion thing of the glove man, you need more than that.
I reckon some would have had him over Pant!

I get the cult bit, and I do agree that he’s not great with the tail
He didn’t have much of a run at all however, was always the first dropped and got picked on the difficult surfaces
I’ve no issue with moving on from him however

Yeah fair play, just my view, I never thought he was fit to lace bairstow’s boots meself. But that was the fault of Ed smith who for some reason brought Buttler in the side. Anyway that’s old ground!
