As much as I love horror I've never read any of his stuff and I've heard he's the godfather of modern horror fiction. Can anyone point me in the direction of some of his better stories? I think most are available copyright free these days, so I shouldn't have any issue finding them. Cheers.

Be interesting to see how he measures up to your views on prose quality given he's renowned for being a bit of a clunker. He's also a massive racist

If you have a kindle or the app you can pick up for next to nowt. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_s...ft&rh=n:341677031,k:The+complete+hp+lovecraft

I’ve only read a couple myself including whisper in the darkness which is good.

You can download all his solo writings for ebook here. I've just started reading it. I believe the lass who put it together has made an effort to check for errors and format it all nicely, which is more than can be said for some of the more official efforts knocking about.

Intriguing. I know very little of him bar Cthulu octopus beasts. It could swing either way.
