Worth the wait for this one. Lived up to expectations (would make a great double bill with I'm Still Here - also a 10/10 for me). Both are set during Brazil's military dictatorship in the 1970s. In this one, a university professor is on the run, and takes a false identity in Recife. But two hitmen are on his trail. The story is pieced together decades later by two history students. Best film I've seen so far this year.

Anaconda 2025. 6/10 , super low expectations especially with the plot but you know what I thought it was a good laugh. So shite it's decent
 
Also, Anaconda 2025 - Expected the worst, but actually it's just a daft/silly film that it sets out to be, Jack Black is Jack Black once again, Paul Rudd even has his moments and I always have a soft spot for Thandiew Newton (Wad). Harmless film, watch once for slight amusement and forget 6/10

Astonishingly beautiful. Yes its 3 hours but its ravishing to look at. Loved it a lot but I think has no nominations at the Oscars. Strong year but that's insane. 9/10 for me which makes it a classic.
 
La Chimera (2023) 9/10
Josh O'Connor (again) as an English archaeologist who has just done time for grave-robbing, newly returned to rural Italy to rob more graves. Brilliantly inventive filmmaking by Alice Rohrwacher.

Breathless (A bout de souffle) (1959) 10/10
One of the most influential films ever made. Astonishing that it only gets 3.9 on Letterboxd.

Nouvelle Vague (2025) 9/10
Richard Linklater's tribute to the French New Wave and the making of Breathless. Amazing attention to detail. You probably need to be familiar with the films and directors of that period to fully appreciate it.

Looks gorgeous. It was nominated for Best Make-Up and Hairstyling.
