Ah, yeah I get it.

I feel it’s more whimsical than Eggers but definitely has that darker gothic tone…until the Sex People Lynne!

One of the films that I passionately hate is Steve Zissu 🤬🤮
I just feel like why should I care what happens to any of the characters in his films when at any moment they might look bored themselves sitting in a pastel coloured suit?

Yeah agree with that.
I’m also not a fan of “quirky” characters.

I sort of enjoyed Meet the Tenebaums although I felt it should’ve been more sinister .
The Lighthouse has Robert Pattinson wanking over a mermaid at one point. I'm sure that won't be awkward watching with your teen, though.
Some of the best cinematography and acting I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying for many a year.

I’m imagining a crossover film of The Royal Tenebaums and Meet The Parents, I’d watch it tbf ;)

I didn’t realise that was his brothers, didn’t see it but saw it advertised. Any good?
Well.

Well…🤣

I think it really depends on what you expect from it.

This year, I enjoyed The Wasp, Cuckoo and Magpie yet all 3 were odd and verging on ridiculous. The Front Room was probably a step down from them quality and story telling wise but still passed the time.

I love the trailer for this South American film 'Kill the Jockey':

I'm trying to gauge the tastes of the people who love Eggers to see if I'll agree
I find that my love of everything Wes Anderson has done puts me on the wrong side of you…
I’ve given Asteroid City another go but I’m sorry just don’t get it
I watched on Boxing Day, love it… but, 100% understand why you wouldn’t too. It’s his weakest recent film, The French Dispatch is a much better film.
