Mrs is knackered so wants to stay at home with the bairns and I want to go to the cinema. Both screenings are past the kids bedtime so I can tuck them up and head to the fillum house.

Do I see

A) civil war

B) dune 2

Dune 2 will be good, but I think it's probably long. Either will be decent though.

I’ve done Dune 2 after really enjoying Dune 1. Waste of 3 hours. It’s dragged out and not as action filled and story driven as Dune 1. Unless you want to watch Chalamet brood around the Sahara for 3 hours, I’d go for A.

Going from the posts, if you want a film that needs properly watching go for Dune.
If you fancy popcorn action with brain removed, go for Civil War.

Haven't been to the cinema in ages - not since COVID actually - but I'm tempted by Civil War even though I've heard that the film is very different to what the trailer makes it look. I could watch Kirsten Dunst in anything.

I’m a big fan of Alex Garland, so my first reaction was to be disappointed with Civil War.
It was brutal and predictable.
However, on reflection it was a damning statement about Americans, so it’s a yes from me
