After conducting some research I enquired to skysports about the possibility of applying to be ''fans of the week'' on Cricket AM when it returns.

Would anybody be interested if I applied SMB? One of the questions is ''how many of us could appear?''. Also I think the way our cricket team was formed would tick a box on their application form.

This is a reply to my email enquiry

Thank you for your interest in appearing on Cricket AM. This year will be our sixth series and we have had an unprecedented level of interest from clubs who wish to appear as our team of the week. We endeavour to get a broad range of different teams of all shapes and sizes so it would be helpful for us if you could answer a few questions so that we could find out a little bit more about your club.

1. Where is your club based?
2. Do you play in a league or do you just play friendly matches?
3. Is there an active social side to the club?
4. What would you say is interesting and unusual about your club?
5. Who are the main characters in the side?
6. How many people will you be able to bring up to our studios on the day?

Cricket AM is a live show filmed on Saturday mornings from 9-10.30am and so any clubs who appear as the team of the week will need to be available for filming in our West London studios between these times. It is important to say at this stage that, although we make every effort to ensure that teams can leave promptly after the show is off air, if your first team play on Saturday afternoons you may struggle to get back in time for the start of your fixture. With that in mind you may need to be able to either re-arrange your fixture for that week or send along members of the second team or other club members who are free and available.

Outlined below is some more useful information.

Appearance on the day
You will need to be able to arrive at Sky studios no later than 8am on the morning of the show. Sky is based in Osterley in West London, very close to the A4

We will need 8 members of the team to appear in our fans pavilion. They should do so wearing their clubs shirts and they will also be taking part in our all new outdoor game at the end of the show. Although only 8 team members can actually appear in-vision, on the day it is very much a case of the more the merrier; as many friends, family and other club members as would like to come are welcome. Cricket AM is a live show and having a large audience helps to create a great atmosphere. There will be plenty of opportunity after the show for all those who attend to get autographs and photos with our studio guests and presenters.

Filming at your club
Prior to your appearance on the show we will also need to organise a date with you to arrange some filming. This is best done on an evening when you have nets, so that a good representation of the club will be present. The idea behind the shoot is to provide our viewers with some idea about what your team is like, who the main characters are and what it is like to play for your team.

Speed Gun
We will also be keen to arrange a Speed Gun session at your club when we come to film. Last year we searched far and wide to find the fastest bowler out there in club cricket. Woodhouses cc’s Manzoor Ellahi topped our charts with 82 Mph and won the chance to bowl at the England team in the nets. This year we are hoping to break the 82 mph mark. If we come to film at your club we will need your cooperation in allowing cricketers from across the area the chance to come and see how they measure up against “the Gun”.

Thank you once again for you interest and we look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible

The Cricket AM team.
