I don't think anyone would keep a stock of the mechanical meters. I suppose they could keep pulls from people who've opted to have smart meters put in, but if they're pushing everyone to smart meters, that would make little sense.Maybe.

Dynamic pricing is the downside. They will charge you more at peak usage periods. And will set it off with cheaper prices at a time when you not likely to use it as much.
