Slot - could he be in trouble?

Oh long may it continue lads.

The reds dont know the meaning of hard times. Lad I work with was offered a ticket tonight but turned it down despite previously complaining last season about never being able to get to a game.

Anfield will be half empty if they keep Slot in a job

They've already got a world cup winning midfielder and one who they've paid over a £100M for. I can't imagine they'll be spending a lot more as the coffers will be pretty dry after there large summer splurge.
Think they've still got a lot of leeway and if players aren't performing they need replacing.
Not qualifying for the champs league would be a massive financial blow and would see slot gone, although keep this up a few more weeks he could be gone anyway as he's clearly not getting them to perform

They have highly trained sport therapists working alongside these professional sportsmen. . I'm sure they can be taught about having to bracket loss.

Even if you have the best therapist in the world, it doesn't mean you'll get over it in a couple of months, especially when you're reminded of him every time you play a game at the 20-minute mark.

They picked up points at the start, but they haven't looked convincing in any game this season, except for the odd spell in some games and in the game against Real Madrid. Real Madrid aren't all that either, they won tonight, but conceded three to Olympiacos.

It was Scotland who qualified for the World Cup mate, not just Andy Robertso, and he hasn't featured much for Liverpool this season either.
I’ll tell you why I don’t agree with the grief line. In those first five games they played great for 80% of the game, then had an absolute bomb scare period where they conceded 2 goals. Bournemouth, Newcastle (10men), Atletico. That isn’t grief, that’s horrendous game management and tactical set up.

Lose this weekend at West Ham and it could be curtains for Arne Slot.... what are the odds of "Pearl Harbor" (Klopp) making a comeback??
The reds are currently mounting the worst defence of a title since the duke of york!!!

More like since Chelsea in 15/16 tbh

You definitely didn't watch their first five games like, they absolutely didn't play great for 80% of them.

I also think they started to show signs they were on the wane from about February onwards hence the summer spending.

Bournemouth they did. Atletico they did. Everton they did. Burnley they battered them. Fair enough Newcastle away they were awful throughout. But in the Bournemouth, Atletico, Everton games they fell off a cliff and couldn’t control the game. That’s entirely footballing reasons.

Also, the signs of those performances have been there since the start of 2025. A dreadful Man Utd went to Anfield and should have won. Newcastle hammered them in the cup final. The PSG game in the Parc Des Princes where they got absolutely destroyed.

If you think they played great for 80% of those games mate, you clearly didn't watch those games. Everyone who has watched them this season has said that they have never looked convincing.

It's not about 'getting over it.' It is about being equipped with the tools to put stuff to one side for 90 minutes, and maybe the build-up to the match etc.
These are focussed athletes and their coaches should, almost certainly will, be aware of the process.
And these are professional athletes.
Just my opinion.

They did. They absolutely battered Atletico. Should have been 3-0 up. Went back to 2-2. Everton they battered. Ended up clinging on. Bournemouth they hammered, then let Semenyo counter attack twice.

Even if you don’t agree with my “80%” you would have to at least concede that in spells they were superb, otherwise you didn’t watch them.

There’s far more evidence football based reasons too. The fact Wirtz totally imbalances their midfield. The fact they don’t sit in when ahead and still keep playing high up and leave massive spaces. The fact they can’t deal with set pieces in a season everyone is targeting set pieces. Another example. Chelsea away. Chelsea had no CBs on the pitch, they were having attack after attack after attack and couldn’t score. Concede late on.

But how can they put that to one side when the crowd chants his name at the 20-minute mark of every game?

We also have no idea what support the players have received in terms of professional help.

Even if you are aware of the processes that exist and can afford the most expensive professional help in the world, there is still no guarantee that people will respond well to it within a couple of months.

Maybe the crowd should stop chanting it then. It’s clearly not helping anyone.

They didn't, you haven't watched those first 5 games of theirs if your takeaway was they played great for 80% of them.

Perhaps, but it will be difficult to get that message across.

I watched them and that’s my opinion. Also, Milwall’s keeper died in pre-season last year, I don’t recall it ever being mentioned again for them after that.

They were quite lucky to win the games they did, that Bournemouth game Bournemouth looked like the reigning champions not Liverpool. The writing was there the defence is shocking, spending all that money on attack when they’ve not really got strength in depth at the back. I’d argue their centre mid field options ain’t that great either for a side looking to win it all. Salah and vvd have aged overnight just after signing new bumper deals 🤔

Not buying it like if you think they played great for 80% of those games, I've not seen anyone else say that about them this season.

Millwall keeper situation was tragic but he'd only been there one season, Jota had been at Liverpool for half a decade.
