Sledging in local cricket?

I dinnit play for any team but I am a big cricket fan, just wondered if there was much sledging at the local level, or is it all played pretty much in the spirit as a 'bit of a laugh' and 'just a game'? I don't mean that to sound to patronising to anyone, just more a wondering than anything else.
 

From the stuff I've seen and what my lad tells me...there's not a lot really. In fact, most of them don't look as if they can be arsed with it all. I'm sure there'll be some exceptions, but that is my perspective.
 
Just re-read that thread. Aleem Dar's claim to have been sleged only once can no be amended to twice; otherwise as you are
 
Certain teams are more known for it than others....
I just prefer to get behind my own team rather have a go at the opposition.

Bill quay where quite bad a few years ago when we played them in a cup game. Me and my marra were having quite a heated debate with the bowlers and to be fair I was going to kill the pick.
 
We take the p*ss out of batsmen but nothing nasty. Im captain of our 3rd team in NYSD Sunday Div 2 and our team is mainly kids (14-18) at 20, im the 2nd oldest (one of the lads uncles just started playing after 15 years :lol:) so most of them wouldnt know how to sledge, but I dont agree that some teams do it to them when they batting when they are just kids

sitting on my decking having a beer and a tab looking out over the sea having just read your match report I feel I have let myself down.. when the most positive thing the lcc chief sportswriter can say about me is that I love beer and tabs it seems I must of had a nightmare.

16's a man in cricket , fair game unless the sledging involves actual assault .
I remember one old bugger of a wicky used to offer my lads sweets and puppies from behind the stumps when they were 15 , mind he did look and sound like jimmy saville and did smoke big cigars .

Weird one this cos I posted in an earlier thread about blokes who sledge kids in senior games being knobs yet I had a pop at a wikky when he came into bat a few weeks ago, in retaliation for his crap sledginging/craic when I'd batted earlier. He was 14 or 15.
