26 all out

Opening bat scored 22, other opening bat scored 2.

Batsmen 3 to 11 scored zero.

I'm not sure I've seen anything like that. I'm assuming it was Wembley issues !

Many, many years ago I was scoring for a Durham Coast League Second team game between Hetton Lyons and South Hylton.

South Hylton were all out for 14 - there were 2 extras, the number 10 scored 2 and the rest were out for ducks.

Only a few years ago, I was at a NEPL under 18 game between South Shields and Whitburn where Whitburn were all out for 12 with the number 11 top scoring with 2 - the other 10 batsmen all got ducks.

Right f@cking Jonah, me.

They did slightly better this week.

To be fair to the lads they could have easily called the match off due to lads at the football.

Fair play to them I say. Really good bunch of lads too.

In our school team, we played one team in midweek in the cup and made 120 or so but were beaten. Played them again in the league on the Saturday and were all out for 10 with one lad, who lived close by and we knocked on his door when we were a player short, top-scoring on 4 and only 2 others scoring at all.

Also remember a lad at work who was playing on the matting wicket at Hylton Road - don’t know if it was a friendly or in the old Wearside League - but they were laughed at for being 20 all out. They were fired up by the comments and proceeded to bowl their opponents for 4 to have the last laugh.

Playing for Dawdon 3rds a million years ago at Silksworth. We were bowled out for 23 and they were 11 for 9 before finally getting all out for 21.
