Simon Adingra 🇨🇮 Signed!

Certainly not all negative (plenty saying it’s a good signing for us) but most Brighton fans also aren’t exactly concerned he’s off…

To be fair they have Mitoma in front of him so hardly a surprise they aren’t that upside given that Mitoma is one of the best in the PL (and so by default it means they are keeping him for another season).

well that was my point. i'm not sure what yours is

obviously will get game time but realistically he's not going to be a regular injuries and AFCON aside. as surely the 'centre of midfield' will be Diarra and Sadiki

It'll be Le Fee and someone. Probably sadiki by the way players are described. With diarra further forward
Most seem to say he's a good player, some say he has had a poor/bitty last season. Sounds familiar with players we've signed for years now- and they mostly improve. Good feeling about this one.

This is my favourite signing so far tbh.

Brighton forum on the move if anyone is interested.

Seems to be well thought of, got a good price but an excellent signing who is down their pecking order/wasn't given a run

This. He's never getting ahead of Mitoma and there's no shame in that. And because of that, they probably don't always see the best of Adingra, loads of wingers need regular football to try and get consistency. I'm not surprised they're happy enough for him to go. They've got plenty options, including Watson as a prospect. But I think he'll be a really good signing for us and, given regular football, he could be a great signing
Yes, indeed.

Boy, are we gonna have some pace in the new team!

You can see it taking shape like. Fast, athletic, sit back, soak up pressure, fuck the shit out of everyone on the break. It's probably the best approach you can take in this league tbh
Certainly feels like our best chance of competing, initially anyway. Be suicide to just go and try play through everyone.

Hi all. Brighton fan here. Firstly it's brilliant to see you back in the Prem where you belong and good to see you doing some good business in the transfer window.

Regarding Adingra - he now has plenty of experience which is what you need and he is quick and direct and doesn't get knocked off the ball easily. The problem for him at the Albion is that Mitoma is ahead of him in the pecking order and it is hoped in the 'Albion' way that Watson will be his understudy and potential future replacement if Mitoma moves on in the next 12 months. Adingra wants to play regularly and hence the reason he was happy to move on. He's a great lad with a good attitude and work ethic.

I genuinely hope he does well for you. Good luck this coming season.
First of all, fuck off (customary welcome to the board).

I've kept an eye on yous for a while just because I admire your football manager philosophy of having a vast scouting network and picking up some of the brightest wonderkids throughout the world and not being afraid to sell them on for great profit and then promote from within. Our philosophy is very similar but this summer we very obviously need to spend big to have any chance of staying up.

Adingra has looked very fast and tricky whenever I've seen him, but most of his appearances have been off the bench so that's probably why his G/A count is quite low compared to games played and that's definitely thanks to Mitoma and Minteh.

What's he like for tracking back now and is his English very good?

Is it true all your signings will be off to the AFCON in December?

We're 2 players down ourselves in December because of that pain in the arse tournament.
It’s not a pain in the arse tournament. It’s a high profile, international tournament on par with the Euros and the PL should treat it as such with a mid season break, rather than flogging players to death.

Thanks for the welcome - a pint will be there for you at the Amex when you come down!

His English is fine so he'll blend in well and like so many players just needs a consistent number of games to show what he can do. His goal tally may not be brilliant but he had a lot of entrances from the bench, and I'm confident if you give him a run of games you'll see the best of him. And at 23 you are buying a lad with a decent sell on (if he does well) and 2 years of Prem experience which is vital when coming up from the Championship. He does track back ok, but he primarily wants to attack so that will be his main area of influence for you.

Best wishes
