Simon Adingra 🇨🇮 Signed!

Selling tommy now is a sign that the club dont really have the same ambition as the fans.
We will sell for way below the market value as per usual. Clubs normally have to pay alot more in this window but not when they come to sunderland
We will see soon enough
Are we supposed to force him to sign a new contract?

Doesn't solve the winger issue obviously but Tariq Lamptey could do with a bit of resurgence in his career and we could do with options in both full back position. If we don't get Adingra and still fancy a player from Brighton that could be the one.

An injury prone well fancied young full back, that's our area of expertise. Bring him home.
I've always massively rated Lamptey. He's having a bit of a tough time right now, but there's clearly a player there.
Don't know if it would happen though. This is the type of scenario where I'd sign a promising kid to plan for the future. Someone who can fill in as a specialist FB, but one who's happy playing second fiddle to Hume & Cirkin.

gutted if Watson is away....who is his agent and hows it got to the fact that a Sunderland fan is leaving and wont sign a contract when he's getting games and is on an upward trajectory
....ffs
Allegedly Danny Graham of all people.

Not sure I believe it but that was the rumour.

Going to have to become advanced talks pretty quickly.

If Speakman manages to get the best part of £10 million plus a stack of add ons / sell ons plus convinces a proven 23 year old Prem winger and international to join on a loan to buy for an injured 18 year old with 6 Championship starts and 18 months left on his contract you've got to say he's made the best of the situation. I think Tommy Watson has enormous potential but if he's determined to leave then it's unlikely we're going to get a better deal than what's currently being rumoured.

Back in the Madrox days we'd have jumped at the ~£2 million Brighton were offering in the summer.
Agree with this really. I'd be gutted to lose Watson because I think he's one of the brightest talents I've seen come through the AOL, but if we get a 10m+ fee and replace him with a winger who has done well in the Premier League, I think fairs fair.

If we sell Watson and get a proven winger coming in who can play immediately, it’s a good deal for the club IMO.
It certainly seems it. The only issue for me is, if we don’t go up, we’ll likely lose the likes of Rigg and Jobe with Watson not here either, along with Mepham, Le Fee and this lad back to their clubs.
Could be a canny rebuilding job in the summer

To be fair, Danny Graham is the man when it comes to getting paid a fortune for being bang average.
100%. Managed to get a 2nd deal here despite being finished and one of our worst ever signings the first time round, so knows how to wangle a contract.
