Brighton were touting him around agents in the autumn. He’s a De Zerbi player, new regime not as invested in him. Could definitely see them selling him, but would he really come to us? It’s hard to imagine.

Let's not forget that the club can't force the lad to go to Brighton, he could easily turn them down and that would be the end of the deal altogether.

Brighton in the Premier League isn't a bad place for a young lad with the potential of what Watson has, and they've been chasing him for over 2 seasons now so he may just see his future there instead of here.

I thought the same. They've probably put in a shit offer and our counter is taking the piss basically.

If it does come off however, this would soften the blow of losing Watson.
