Significant investment by FPP has been made

I don't think they'd have to time to explain it to some of them. If they'd started talking them through it 1-to-1 with some of the folks on here they'd still be on page 2 of the plan now, explaining what a page of contents was and why it's not evidence of a conspiracy to con them out of their season ticket money.
Nice.

They are not telling us much. Is it a loan? They haven't bought a share so how do they get their money back? How is it an investment for them?

It's exactly what they detailed when they first arrived man! They said "the pisstake party stops here" and detailed the ways the club were wasting money including scouts taking the piss with their expenditures. They always said they'd be looking to bring in more investors in the future and that more money would be spent on the club later.

I've seen no evidence at all that either of CM or SD are "bullshitters" as you put it. All I see is a couple of guys rebuilding our club in the manner they always said they would.

Promotion may well have take a season (or possibly two) more than they and we had hoped, but the rest of the plan appears to me to be still in place. Bring it on! Stage 2!

Stewart Donald said we didn't need anybody's investment to get out of League 1.

there has been a lot of evidence that what has been said by the owners in podcasts, interviews or podcasts has not necessarily been entirely accurate. Whether that is by accident or design is down to people’s own sensibilities and how they interpret the situation, but to say there hasn’t been anything that equates to bullshit or bluster is a bit naive imo.

I've see a lot of folks on here go off the deep end about things that could be taken a number of ways, such as use of the word "budget" in the early interviews when a lot of people assumed he meant "transfer fee budget". It's not the only example of a lot of people getting the wrong end of the stick and then getting angry that this "promise" they'd invented in their own heads wasn't fulfilled. The "100 points" controversy was another main offender, where loads of people missed the parts of the same paragraph where he said he was "aiming" for that total, not promising it. RAGE THAT WE'RE NOT LOOKING LIKE WE'RE GOING TO GET 100 POINTS!!!! RAGE THAT HE PROMISED IT, BECAUSE IF HE HADN'T PROMISED IT THEN WE WOULDN'T BE RAGING LIKE THIS ANYWAY, HONEST WE WOULDN'T!!!!

You basically said but they weren't lying.

Just admit it, they talk a load of shit.
no id dint i said they were..sometimes!

they said 18 months ago they would cut things back achive financila stability but provide a budget the highest in this league and higehr than a few clubs in the league above, while keeping the academy at category one level..

they have sdone all of that..
they failed on the other aspect..promotion..by appointing the wrong person to manage the first team..
I personally couldn’t give a shit what our budget is, I’d much prefer it if they provided us with a team capable of getting us out of this league, something they have so far failed to do.

What is clear is that the people chosen to lead the recruitment operations failed under the conditions that prevailed. My own opinion is that they failed because of their approach (contacts led as per Donald’s many statements). And it can’t be an impossible task because 10 or so clubs have been proven to have done the same thing better since we’ve been in league one. They may be able to perform better with more money available but the fundamental error of their approach will remain - and will reduce the effectiveness of this cash injection. Also, this demonstrates that Donald was unable to get Safc out of league one on his own. That’s a savage indictment of his chosen strategy.

That being said, it’s a good interview by methven overall. At least demonstrates that they can see the legitimate fan criticism of their performance. Now they need to address it by doing better. Still reckon that, out of all of the Donald crew, Methven is the most capable of carrying out his role. If we needed to keep one once FFP take full control (please god) I’d choose him every time.

Good points. It also demonstrates that it was some time ago they identified the things we've been critical of,which is to their credit. It hasn't just dawned on them. We know they've been talking to these American fellas for months, presumably with the purpose of securing investment for the recruitment and academy operations. It's perhaps taken longer than they would have wished, but at least it's here now.
I suppose we've got to hope now that it's not too late to be able to affect this season.

Like this you mean?

the owners not been clear deliberately..of stewrat speaking without notes and not being a details guy so the communication being unintentionally unclear..and fans interepeting thinsg as they want to to suit whatever they want to hear

fans fault.

We're a mid table League 1 club 18 months into their tenure. Fairness isn't on the table.

We are now a club that billionaires see as a good investment opportunity which is a millions miles from where we were.

Last year the manager had to build an entire new squad and we fell short, the only bad decision to have been made was to stick with Ross which in hindsight was a bad move. I wanted them to keep faith in Ross as we have had many managers in a short space of time which doesn't help. They've been decisive and rolled the dice and at the same secured some investment, hopefully we now start to rise again.
