Significant investment by FPP has been made

The way I've read it, it is for the infrastructure ,academy and the stadium works. nothing to do with the playing side so unless Stewie and Chas babe's have money to blow or trade with, then January is looking bleak for me. :( :(
Ffp means basically we can’t spend more than we earn on players.....I think. We can however spend incoming investment backstage.

I'll believe it when I see it. however, back to the article by Methven. I've read it,yet again ,and what it does say is everything that has been discussed at length on these msg boards for the past two months at length....Nothing about money for players

source Sheffield Echo:

Methven said: "There’s a large scouting network now being put in place by Tony Coton, including substantial numbers of scouts in this country, Scandanavia and elsewhere. There’s going to be substantial investment into recruitment in the academy, and things that are hopefully going to be able to take the fan experience to the next level in terms of infrastructure and there’ll be an announcement in the near future on what that looks like."

Though it’s not as easy to get WPs for forrin players in the FL as it is at PL level. Plus there’s brexit still hanging around like a mag smell. But of course safc as we all know will be aware of this and planned accordingly.

New urinals I reckon..and a lick of paint and new lighting in the concourses. Which I dont mind.

I do hope so...Planning for the future is not one of SAFC's strongest points, going from recent history.

firstly..im gald they atent bragging about big budgets etc its a really good way to get over charged for players..

SD complained several times on podcast about what he called the sunderland tax...yet the reason clubs thought they could do that was becayse of his boasting about the budgte..

those new scouts for tony coton..you think we could possibly be hiring them to find us footbal;ers for the first team?

I think you really need to step up to the plate Chas and answer the burning question, did you go arseless at the game yesterday?

This is the news everyone was waiting for. I don't know what people have been expecting.
We ere told by other folk that Fuhmann wa our new owner and a as far back as the 26rd of August and we should all relax and start looking at monorail designs, and hiring engineers to see if the sols foundations could hold a roof.

!t aas tha validity iof the folk telling these tales that has blown it out of all proportions ....This deal as it stands is a positive thing for the club but is nowhere near what was written on the tin from the 26th of August! It looks to me that donald has sourced investment to keep us ticking over and any development is going to be a slow one over several years!

I personally expected an investmented tatgeted on the playing side first and then the acadamy and scouting...........maximising the profit they make from the drinks and food would be way down my lisy if im being honest!

We will all have to wait to see how this all pans out but as i said at the start its a positive thing for the club as we have been running on fumes over the past year and now we might just have a little gas in the tank, and perhaps it mighyt be enough to get us to our journeys end but i cannot get away from the feeling we will need a few more stops at gas stations before our trip is over.

what you wre told on the tin wasnt by donald..
£10m isnt ticking over level at league one..its a vast bounty..we were the mancity of egaue on before this..but even ,more so now..

i totally agree with everything you said, i feel like people have been putting it on a pedestal though and making it into something it's not

I don’t remember Man City making record spend reductions so why are we called that ?
,i rember them spending more than all the other teams jin their legaue combined..and having the buggest budgte for wages and tranfers in their league..

people on here act as though safc were well run before these owners came in..they were..safc was the worst run club in england for a decade..it demonstrably had more staff than was needed even at premier legaue level..a terrible football recruitment department, terrible, and unqualified football negotairs..and corrupt wscouts..
im glad all of those people were fired..they deserved it..

were psome opeople who were good at their jobs also fired? probably..but it wont have been many..no one who left on the football side was any good, exceot maybe one guy,
and on the non football side the biggest chunk of wage reductionw as losing the ceo and direcror of change.

We are raking over old coals here fella .. but i choose to believe that rr and als would not have chosen to say what they did without the ok from someone high up in the club (not naming names as stuff gets deleted)..The tem million if it is that is a huge amount for league one but as donald has said we already have a budget that dwarfs any league one club ,but if some of that is not spent on sourcing a striker in january (and paying over the odds)we are going to be in league one another year and we will lose fans hand over fist.
Lets wait and see fella but if we lose hume and 09 in january to championship sides you will know the true metal of our owners!

define high up? could have been anyone-just not someone who knew anything?
the phrase "pme of the richest football clubs in the world" was put on here multiple times by posters who dont underatand business..

the fanzines could hjust have nciked it from there..the recent interview one of them did with methven weas full of phrases from them that are on this iste..

I’m sure we won’t have the wiggle room in terms of FFP to be doing much in January regardless of who owns us.

That’s why investing in scouting makes sense. Going forward we should be signing better players for less.

The stadium investment is badly needed. The ‘match day experience’ will be more of a side effect. I’m sure it will be more to attract more none footballing revenue. What I’m prepared to put up with watching the lads does not reflect what the missus (no) expects when she goes to see Take That.

Increasing our revenue streams is important even if Michael Dell is a MLF with billions to burn on us. With our income FFP will become a limiting factor much sooner than later unless our revenue increases. It might not be sexy but it’s the reality.
