Should we ditch the red and white stripes?

Our desire for "the tradational" (even though it's not our original colours) is holding us back. Just like religion. I want it gone.

Just curious. Why do so many English teams have stripes? Is there a reason or do you guys just have trouble making up your minds. :)

It was us, actually. Back in 1935/36...
 
I honestly don't think I would continue to watch Sunderland if someone came in and re-branded us, taking the stripes away. I know a few Cardiff fans who have never been back since they started wearing red and I fully support them. It's a teams history and legacy that your messing with and the colours of a team should never change no matter how big or small the team. It can be the red and white of Sunderland, the all blue of Everton or the green and white of Blyth Spartans. Change a stadium name, change a club crest but a clubs colours are it's real identity and where it all began.
 
No way. I understand the wish for success and a new overseas owner may want to re-brand however this would be a step too far.

Rename stadium yes, its not RP so no real issue. Ditching the Red n White stripes would be stripping away too much of the tradition and identity of the club.
 
It's the players not the strip we should ditch. Those red n white stripes have served us proudly throughout most of our history. They have little to do with our current lack of success.
 
Fine by me. Don't give a fuck about the colour top they wear.

Not much a fan of the stripes, in and of themselves...personally wouldn't mind but not something I'd cause a fuss over.
