Should Rashid get a test chance?

No. Leach is better.
Is Bess though? Root took 4fer on the same pitch he got his fifer.

We never gave Rashid a long enough chance in test cricket. To develop at the level as bit expensive at times.

Start of that last India tour he looked good, the spin coach then left the tour and him moeen fell apart.

We just expect our spinner to be Graeme swann without much backing.

I’m unsure on Bess yeah.

Just think Leach is a cut above them both from what I’ve seen

I agree on leach showed it in Sri Lanka.

I think if we play in India were gonna have to have 3 frontline spinners anyway due to inexperience of Leach and Bess internationally. We did that last time only our options were Rash Moeen Ansari Batty Dawson

Rashid or Moeen can both bat so makes sense to have a look at them. But then I can't see them wanting to rely on stokes as second seamer.

Burns
Sibley
Crawley
Root
Stokes
Pope
Buttler
Rashid/Moeen
Bess
Wood/Archer/Broad
Leach

Stokes has a decent record with the ball on the subcontinent and was excellent in Sri Lanka last time albeit as an impact bowler. Given how little Curran/Jimmy bowled last time there I wouldn't be against using Stokes as a second seamer

England did eventually move towards one specialist seamer by the last match of the previous Sri Lanka series. India seems to offer a bit more for the seamer. But yea Bess & Leach & Rashid seems fair for Sri Lanka. You'd probably favour a seamer with genuine pace who can bowl two lengths.

More just workload I meant with batting at 5.
