Sheff Wed - financial issues

They weren’t. They’d just been taken over and signed a full squad. Drew 1-1 away. Murphy scored for them and McGeady equalised last minute. It was typical after they’d been pumped 5-0 for about 6 weeks in a row
That does ring a bell cheers.

Needs to be sort sort of policies in place for a forced takeover is situations like this.

If they fail the fulfil their first game then surely its going to end up in curtains for the club.

If a team can’t play the game, what happens? Automatic 3-0 loss?

Only thing I’ve seen close to this is when I couldn’t be arsed playing a fifa career match in the early ones and just skipping it for a loss.

They will get a big points reduction you’d imagine?

I can’t honestly see the EFL kicking them out of the league

Poss postponed to be rearranged at a later date. Even if Stoke were gifted points, they'd lose them if Sheff Wed are kicked out.

One of the traditional big clubs reduced to this is awful. Despite Ellis Short’s failings he took a hit and bailed us out. Then Donald and Methven nearly fucked it up trying to make quick money. I don’t pretend to know the answer but the fit and proper owner assessment is bollocks.

The BBC report on this is really bleak reading, they can only open 3 stands if they can start the season, they’ve only got 14 first team players as it stands and a transfer embargo for 3 windows. Best case scenario I’d say you’re looking at back to back relegations, worst case is the club folds completely. That owner wants stringing up.

Fair enough from the security firm, I’d be giving them zero on tick the state they are in. You know what they say about bankruptcy, it happens slowly then all at once.

Poor sods, but I’m so happy it’s them and not us.
