Semenyo goes to Bournemouth for 9m

As a Sunderland fan I rate Stewart as a multi million pound player. But from an outside fan point of view I can see why he isn’t rated so highly by others. They won’t see what he contributes the full game. He’s sensational but to another teams fan he’s a gangly centre forward

LND got to be worth atleast 15million....roll on end of transfer deadline

@Bristol City What position does that lad from the Channel Islands play? Saw he was linked to Wolves and wondering if the hype is justified.

Jesus just looked on Wikipedia 16 goals in 112 games for Bristol City, if he has went for that surely Stewart is worth at least 25 mill

I think a few of those games he played as a winger.

I though he looked like he could be a proper player for us but Covid came. Just imagine judging Amad or even Stewart on his first 6 weeks here. He looked good on the ball, was direct and wasn't easily bullied. I think he was just warming into the team and if we completed the season I reckon he would have been class

Honestly speaking I would. I thought he was getting better game by game for us. He looked a decent little footballer.
Agree with this. Physically strong and mobile and good on the ball. Was just at the time in the the wrong team with the wrong manager.
Some loans work well as we see ourselves at the moment and others don't, I think Semenyo will do well at Bournemouth.

Hamstrung by Parky with us.

Every other time I’ve watched him he’s looked a threat.

It’s perception why I think he’ll sign a new deal with us, unless a club that can actually analyse football at his ceiling lose a player. Brentford and Toney are the biggest example I can think of. Or Brighton as they are now.

Some of the others linked with him I think have as you say ‘the outside fan point of view’. Blackburn will see that he just has as many goals as Diaz roughly, Boro won’t pay the money unless they can get him on a free which means they wait 18 months.

His best deal is with us imo. Unless he waits it out another season. In which case we get another year out of him and he ends up on the bench at a Prem team albeit earning shit tonnes comparatively. The alternative is an Everton or someone comes down and wants guaranteed goals, in which case we get a good fee, and we try and find the next Ross Stewart. Bound to be one, and our recent recruitment record is brilliant.

Anywhere really, he's played CM, CDM, CAM, RM, RWB, RB, I think #8 is his ideal position though. Re the hype:

This is possible but I think most opposition fans do realise what he offers after they play us.

The Middlesbrough fans were more complimentary about Stewart than we were after we beat them 2-0 (obviously we're more used to his performances, and he did miss a couple of chances).
