Why read the mag rag it only prints negatives about safc

I thought this statement was interesting...

A creative midfielder is the next priority for coach Dick Advocaat, but at this week’s transfer meeting in Toronto with Congerton and Ellis Short, the Texan owner decreed that players must be taken off the wage bill before further additions can be made.

Now it may be total bollocks because of the usual caveats: no source mentioned and it's the crayonical after all...

However, if true, maybe it's not FFP at all and just Ellis saying "you want more players, MOVE THE DEAD WOOD."

...at the end of the day, it's his money.

The Echo and Chris Young are saying it is FFP-related and Ellis wants them off the wage bill:

@eddy_clarke asked: It it true we have to sell before we can buy more?

CY: As I reported yesterday, it’s not about a lack of money available for transfer fees.

They’re simply looking to shift a few off the wage bill to comply with PL salary regulations (that Short himself proposed a couple of years ago). When you look at the squad, there’s clearly 4 or 5 who can go.

looks at last we have an ITK with direct inside information.:lol::lol:

It's inviting offers for our shite at reduced fees to create space for the quality we need.

We are cutting our losses 100% and making it plain 'Reduced to Clear'

Less of an issue when it's the wage bill that needs to increase rather than trying to achieve the illusory getting your money back on the transfer fee

What paper told us we'd spent up our budget with the Rodwell signing last season, much to the ridicule of our fans.
They were spot on as it happened. They won't be far from truth this time either.

What about Defoe, you absolute fuckpunnet? Do you think Advocaat is working pro bono?

What on earth do you get from this? You're like a toddler getting its willy out in creche. Any attention is good attention.

Erm Defoe came in January and his wage subsidised with getting shot of jozy!
Fuckin hell man!

But we had no budget left. And Defoe earns considerably more. So that's more money out of a budget that doesn't exist. Then there's Advocaat. Poyet was sacked so he remained a cost.

Hmm.

It's a real head scratcher. Either Chronicle (a Newcastle gufftrumpet) and you (a noted simpleton) are wrong, or everyone else is wrong.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They were correct around this time last year.
We'll see. Still stick with the opinion that Advocaat wouldn't have come back if he was only allowed 15m to spend. Short isn't stupid enough to move the goalposts now imo. Of course we have some deadwood we need to get rid of, par for the course.

We absolutely do have to cull the wage bill. All clubs do. We can do that via loans, very releasing players or via transfers.

The Chronicle have absolutely no clue what we're thinking about doing though. None whatsoever. Why would they?

Everything they write about us exists to appease mags and wind up the worst cretins amongst our support. Jardine is both, so it's no surprise that he's suckling on their teat.

Things can be revisited in the January as has been proven in the past if the dice needs to be rolled.
We have usually spent around the 15m mark net over last few summers so it sounds about right to me.

They were correct last season though Bonny lad.

I imagine it will be around the 15m net mark but anything else made on outgoings can be utilised as well and as you say we have a bit of deadwood to shift so perhaps he's happy with that.

What a surprise that you'd gloat about that.
You f***ing hero, you.
