Excellent news, Jones adds to our batting resources. OK, so Leicestershire 2nds bowling attack is poor but a big hundred will give the lad confidence.

I thought we signed him last year? was he not the lad who scored a century or two perhaps for Scotland against our seconds and we signed him up. iirc he did nowt much for us after signing him, I could be way off the mark there mind but that's what me dodgy memory is telling us

Played a few matches on trial last season and is on a development contact this season. Scored 120 for Tynemouth in NEPL on Saturday as well so off to a decent start to the season.

Nothing changes Brandon looks like they can still produce a better wicket at your club than the county can provide at the Riverside.

No idea to be honest i only noticed him after they tweeted when he made his ODI debut.

That's correct, scored A big ton for Scotland then played a few games for our 2nd scoring heavily. News of his signing for Durham came from Tynemouth when they announced his signing.

ah that's good news I didn't remember that.

mind you I remember we had an ozzy who did well for our seconds then was never heard of again, nick hobson or similar ring any bells?
 
I see the Seconds games against Scotland next week have been switched to the Riverside starting Monday which means that with the Leics game immediately following it there may be 8 days of cricket off the belt......and then I woke up!

Yeh there was speculation we'd sign him as he had a British passport but he hasn't broke through into Sheffield Shield once again provide Geoff Cook's judgement.

aye, I remember the talk of us signing him as he had done really well here, he returned to Tasmania[?] iirc and was never heard of again, as far as we're concerned anyhow.
