Good win but we did it the hard way. Saying that, that is only because of weather, if the weather had been fine, we'd have wrapped the game up yesterday.

Tms podcast worth a listen. Andy flower vs aggers. Flower was a bit OTT like but has a right to be a bit pissed about some aspects of the questioning.

Vaughan is the big pain in the arse on tms imo.

Aggers mentions it in his usually excellent column too . . Making a mountain out of a molehill imho. I'd have made them follow on but a 247 run victory inside 4 days is pretty impressive. They wouldn't admit it but I think they batted on for a bit of practice

Batting on was the right move. Feel we should have declared after the interval at 429 ahead, but some of the stuff that came out of the wireless was unnecessary about fields etc. As cooky said, you can attack without having 6 men around the bat, especially vs an aggressive batter, deny him the scoring opportunity and then take the rewards.

Vaughans 10 day, 2 test, assassination of Compton in order to get his mate root opening was embarrassing, i agree Compton needs dropping, but what happens if root fails at 2? Then we've lost an ideal 6 and damaged the lads verve and confidence into the bargain.

He was a bit tetchy with Athers on Sky too and apparently had a go at Andy Fogarty (the groundsman) for taking time to get the covers off this morning.

Me thinks it will only happen if Pietersen is declared fit- which reading between the lines he won't be.

Must be reading between different lines to me marra.

In fairness, the bits I read/heard he also said lets not forget that he got two centuries recently for England and that he is a good player, its just that with a full squad to pick from we have better options.
