I know you won't be wanting to take the piss in the way some do but I don't think you can't really compare them fairly anyway. Have you seen the Sheff Wed prices compared to ours? It's not just higher prices, it's also the limited amount of available concession tickets some clubs have in certain areas of the ground. The SOL has a high percentage of these concession tickets available given the size of the ground and we allow our fans under 22 for a lot cheaper than some other clubs.

This is Sheff Wed's prices below and for someone aged 17 to 24 the cheapest is £450 for 1 stand and £560 for 2 others and £640. All the Sheff Wed fans aged 17-21 pay those amounts, whereas our fans that age pay £165 for most of the ground in all 4 stands. If we had the same pricing structure as Sheff Wed it would certainly affect the numbers surely given we must have 1000s of fans aged 17-21? Even Sheff Wed's 12-16 ticket prices are £225 for 3 stands compared to our £96 or £48 for all 4 stands so again would certainly affect our numbers. There is also a thread about them charging £45 for a ticket as it's a piss take really. Or the reverse because if Sheff Wed had our capacity and pricing structure then they'd certainly sell more tickets.

I can't find Leeds prices for this season with a quick search. I've seen the prices from when they finished 13th (8th season in Championship) for the following 2018/19 which is 5 years ago yet still higher than ours (especially the 16-22 age group). This is the season before they went up to the Premier League in 2019/20.

Again the young adult aged 16-22 is having to pay £316 to renew (£400 new ST), possibly £400 (£515 - £540 new ST) if not in the 2 other stands. There's also the thread about their match day prices here charging £47 a ticket so fuck knows what a season ticket is now for their fans given these prices below are from 5 years ago.

Also see this post from a Leeds fan as Leeds may be holding out on selling STs as they know they can sell out the remaining match day tickets at higher prices and generate more revenue, again taking the piss out of match day fans.

Leeds away £47

Leeds are the biggest club n this league with the most appeal The price makes sense. I only had to pay £30 last year and even got the pleasure of relegating you!

This was evident when we were last in the Premier League and other teams with less fans such as Southampton were pulling in more revenue.

I'd dare say the Mags and Boro probably have a higher pricing structure/smaller availability than us. It's still fun taking the piss outta crowd numbers but in reality it's not as simple as just comparing the attendance and why comparing them is sometimes a pointless dick waving contest. Though I can be sure that even with the same ticket prices/availability/concession numbers etc there's still no question that we'd still be up there with the best and the same goes for the away numbers also, even more so 😎

They are old prices to be fair. Our cheapest now for an adult is 420 but I do get your drift. It still counts as bums on seats though. We have a much larger stadium than all three so we can afford to do concessions around the ground

Aye, it's the early bird pricing as I just saw the image and used it and it's £420 as you say.

The majority of new SAFC ST prices are now £180 for the 18-21, £105 for 16-17 and £55 for U16 so still considerably cheaper for many of the younger fans than the other 3 clubs mentioned. Even more so for the 17-21 year olds at Sheff Wed who are paying £450 (which is limited to 1 stand) up to £640 and the Leicester fans who pay £335 (2 limited sections) to £560. A group of 4 lads aged 18-21 could be paying £1800-£2560 in total at Sheff Wed yet 4 lads would pay a total £720 at SAFC so it just goes to show the difference in revenue SAFC will generate from that age group as there must be 1000s of fans in that age group. For example it if was 4,000 fans then it would be £1,800,000 to £2,560,000 revenue for Sheff Wed yet just £720,000 for SAFC. We'd have to get 10,000-14,000 fans to generate the same revenue as Sheff Wed's 4,000 fans!

Some people complain about the SOL being too big but the huge positive is that we've never priced out the fans as much as other clubs do. This makes it ideal to offer lower prices for the younger generations to get them going to the games and be the older fans of the future. It would be interesting to see the age groups of clubs fans but only the clubs themselves will know that information.

Last season the total attendance was 10,375,159 and the largest I can see over the last decade is the 2017/18 when we were passing through which was 11,303,278. It had us, Villa, Leeds, Wolves, Derby, Sheff Utd, Sheff Wed as the top 7 attendances and 9 teams were over 25,000, whereas this coming season you'd expect 8 to beat the 25,000 but then it drops to 20,000 by 10th place.

Three of the four lowest last season in Wigan, Blackpool and Reading got relegated. A quick total using last season's numbers it would be 11,580,771 in total. Chances are we will be higher than our average but Sheff Wed numbers last season is more than the last time they were in the Championship, plus their high prices may have an effect. Ipswich and Plymouth don't have much capacity left to fill and can only add around 3,000 per game between the 2 even if they sold out so around 70,000 over the season.

As for Leeds, Leicester and Southampton, who knows what their numbers will be like but it will be hitting 11 million though I'm not sure it will beat the 2017/18 season.

Decent support but yes it noticeably increases a bit with the glory. For a city that big its nothing exceptional, also a Rugby town and Bradford City on the doorstep 😂
