Season Ticket Tracker 2023-24

The only reason family zone is getting moved to Premier Concourse is that it’s convenient for the club. They appear clueless as too which area of the lower bowl to move it to so have decided just to fling them up in the concourse out of the way.

Personally I can see both sides of the family zone thing. In many cases it won't be the right place, lots of kids want to be near the action, don't want to have to climb loads of stairs, some younguns like seeing the cats etc. Some will like the view but in my experience that isn't the primary concern for many kids. Many also like hearing atmosphere more than getting a great overhead view, we'll need to see what the atmosphere is like up there, it might be decent, time will tell.

That being said, the current family zone isn't fit for purpose, there's loads of adults without kids etc there. Ideally you don't want to be turfing people out of their seats. This move allows the club to make a purpose-made area. They're going to set an age limit (so when kids get to a certain age their party will be expected to move). Hopefully they can reintroduce games consoles etc and make it look and feel like a family zone again. In that respect it's a decent move.

Is the family zone getting moved to the Concourse?

Yeah I think this is a bad idea too.

Couldn't tell you the last time I was in the stadium earlier than about 2.57, but I imagine there are still a fair few kids right at the front all through the warm up.

Always used to see kids high fiving Samson and Delilah too.

Aye nail on the head with samson and delilah. Kids want to see the players up close too. That's the experience for them.
This^^ they won't feel as 'into it all' and the experience of being at a game. Too far away being up there, especially if kids are just starting off going to football.

My lad always goes to the front to watch them train. He's usually in awe of being so close to Patterson. It's what makes the experience for them.

4. Family zone
CW revealed that the club is looking at potentially relocating the family zone to the premier concourse
for the 2024/25 season. This would provide a clean slate to launch a new area for junior supporters and
provide the club an opportunity to introduce age restrictions for purchase.
EM wondered if being so far from the pitch would be an issue for children.
The NextGen cashback scheme will be available for the Stoke game and CW will monitor the potential
new area at this game and gather feedback from the schools and local clubs on their matchday
experience.
PA agreed putting the family zone in the premier concourse was a good opportunity to create a
dedicated area, the current family zone is a thoroughfare.

Dunno what the uproar is regarding family zone. People can still sit in most parts of the ground with a bairn anyway. Don't see putting them in PC as an issue. Good view up their and for children they could see the ground in all its glory from up their. My first season card back in the 99/2000 stadium was up in the gods and I loved it as a 7 year old.

I sit in the East Stand with my two - they love it. So agree, there's plenty of choice.

A balanced view, but in truth much of the second part could be achieved without moving them into the PC. Set the age limit, reintroduce the games consoles and entertainment, and keep it more separate in other ways.

I just don't think the PC is the right place for youngsters, personally...they need to be closer to the players and the action. They need to feel the excitement, which can be a bit remote from the PC.

Of course there is. The club have made it easier now with regards to that anyway. At one point only adults could get a seat in the East Stand and North Stand. Now you can get kids in both stands no problem paying kids prices as well. People just like getting their niknaks in a twist over nothing

Most of it could, but I think a fairly high percentage of people there aren't families with young kids, so they'd have to kick quite a number of people out of their seats, which wouldn't be popular. I agree on your second paragraph mind, for me they should be in the lower tier somewhere

I guess what may also be on the clubs' mind is the empty seats. Given the price of the kids tickets, I don't think people are too concerned when they miss a few games, which becomes quite visible especially in their current location. I don't take mine midweek for example and suspect many others do similar. That would be far less visible in the PC.
